I was just making my way up the stairs for a pee when o——d scored their first goal in the phantom final of 86.Wish I’d stayed in the bogs for the rest of the game.

Time wasting antics

He was behind Eze so I agree it can’t really be a genuine attempt at getting the ball, but it should’ve been at least a yellow card.If the keeper had saved the pen or if he’d missed the target, they’d have got off Scot free, which can’t be right.

I agree with the idea, but enforcing it would be a different matter.Regarding Saturdays penalties, would the ref have had the balls to make Eze take the kick again if the keeper saved it?He took so long to kick it that there were several players encroaching in the box, including our own.And so much for the keeper not moving off his line.

When did the rules change to allow a player to stop on the run up the way Eze did on Saturday?I know Aldridge used to do it in the 80’s,and I thought they’d stopped it happening.

Location shouldn’t make much difference these days really. These footballers don’t live in the poorer areas of town and most places have a McDonald’s and a kfc for their food needs.
The countryside around some of our cities is beautiful and very convenient to get to,but that won’t bother your average player these days. They’d be more interested in the WiFi speed for playing online games and streaming movies.
And with the latest flash cars they buy they can get from a to b in record time if they’re sober enough to drive. They get there quicker if they’re not.

I don’t know where he got 8 mins from.Their bloke was only down for 2 or 3 mins.I guess the gamesmanship at the penalties might have been 1 minute each.Thats a lot of added time for the subs coming on.

I don’t see how it can be any guide to teams we might be playing. We all know that any team can play crap one week and be Barcelona the next.It isn’t whether they are up with their expected goals average but more to do with how they play on the day.

I don’t mean to offend but I’m an old dinosaur who mainly relays on the scoreline to discover if a team is playing well or not. They seem to be intent in turning football into another American sport by breaking everything down into stats.

Why don’t They a useful stat then like shots on target? If you’re playing well you tend to have more shots,or corners?
We’ve had more shots than our opponents this season, according to the stats in akutr’s,so why complicate things with expected goals?

Did they move up the table because they started winning games or because they read the stats on expected goals?
Or should the league table be organised on expected goals rather than points won?
I’m not having a dig mate but I just think it’s a pointless stat.

Sky sports come out with even more craps stats like duels won and the amount of dribbles.
Why don’t they go the whole hog and list whspits the most,or who has rolled over the furthest after supposedly getting fouled.

I think villa had about 15 minutes added on in the 2nd half.I don’t think it was meant to be that much but the ref had it down for a home win.
I thought he only put it up as 5 but then my eyes aren’t that great.I think it was Clive next to us who had his stopwatch on it and said it was supposed to be 8.

Don’t worry too much about but try and score more goals than him and his team do.

Are they though?Who can say for certain that 1,000s didn’t die in natural disasters throughout all of our history?
Or is it the fact that there are so many more of us all crammed into spaces where there used to be less people crammed into?

11 for me,including feethams in Darlington.
I used to go there for their reserve games occasionally on a Monday night. One game George Reynolds turned up and created a fuss because somebody had parked in his own personal parking space.
He wanted the steward sacked and probably all his family locked up too.He was a real w@nker.
And Upton Park And White Hart Lane makes it 13.

Unfortunately people in poorer countries have always died through floods, famine, earthquakes and other disasters caused by the weather and the conditions of the countries they live in.
We had a massive flood in lynemouth in the 50’s that killed lots of people. And the disaster in South Wales in the 60’s was caused by too much rain,I think.
It has always gone on and probably always will.
People glueing themselves to the pavements isn’t going to stop it happening. They made their protest last week,so why the need to continue disrupting the lives of people trying to make a living?

There are some songs still being played on all stations that have the lyrics changed to make them fit for playing.
What is wrong with “what a bummer?” That gets changed to “what a summer” when it’s played on the radio these days.
