Just seen on Facebook that Rodney, Roger and Ian Morgan, Tony Hazell and Ian Watson are coming to HQ on the 19th for the Preston game. Hope they bring their boots. Should get a massive reception from us oldies who remember the magic of that season. |

Anyone watching Spider-Noir on Prime with Nicholas Cage as an aging Spiderman set in 1930s New York. There's a choice of black and white or an old fashioned colour edition. Nicholas Cage is brilliant as a boozing loner trying to retire and stay out of the lime light. The action scenes are really well done. In fact all the performances are first class. |

My Grandad took me to my first games, Willesden FC playing at the old stadium in King Eddies park early/mid 50s. Me and a couple of mates who went to some catholic college in Tottenham discovered London Transport ran a football special from Willesden bus garage to Whitehart Lane. If memory serves it was only a tanner and a tanner to get in to see the Spuds team under Nicholson. Went there a few times until the special was stopped in 60/61ish.
Looking around for more we tried Fulham, yawn. Then went to see the Rs at White City, was not impressed to be honest a couple of thousand fans in a 100,000 seater stadium, you could cut the atmosphere with a tennis racket. It was not until the return to HQ and the beginnings of that great team under Stock with Marsh mesmerising defences that I became hooked.
I'll never forget the League Cup semis against Birmingham and of course the final at Wembley. The only fly in the ointment was my mate buying the tickets to find ourselves up in the West Brom end. Lots of sympathy at half time but not happy at us jumping up and down when the third goal went in. Gawd knows where he got them from. |

Lived in Hayes Lane for a couple of years back in the 70s and saw some so called celebrity match there. Couldn't recognise anyone. Also watched our reserves, led by Kevin Gallen play Crystal Palace reserves there back in the early 2000s we lost 3 2. |

Did a three night cruise a few years ago on Cunard's Elizabeth to the Bruges Christmas market, including a black and white evening meal. Belgian ales and Mueles frite what's not to like. oh and all the food you can eat on board ship plus proper ales. |

Like you I have no recollection of my first game, just remember it was at White City. I didn't start going regularly until we returned to Loftus road and even then can't recall my first game. Gave up my season ticket in SAR during covid and only go to a few games these days with my son and grandson. Getting old is shit. |

Best to watch the game with the sound off. I can make my own mind up what the players should or should not be doing, rather than listen to the inane ramblings of pundits. |
