tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 1997034 viewsbatman

Not for us, but for Bury.
i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto
BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged
only Wednesday this week.
looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

There's a potential £700k to redistribute to L1 clubs should bury lose their league status, from the solidarity payment fund

That works out around £30k for the remaining 23 clubs. Obviously, we'd lose out due to bury bringing a lot more fans here than most other away grounds

Not sure if that's what the efl would do with the money though

I can't see the EFL distributing Burys share of the solidarity payment between the other 23 clubs.
I would think the EFL are far more likely to distribute their share between Burys footballing creditors that are looking very unlikely to get paid if Bury are kicked out of the league.

Poll: Now the club has refused to move on sesaon ticket prices what will you now do?

A lot depends on how much bury owe the EFL and other secured football creditors financially for previous financial assistance under Stewart Day.

We know that the EFL are withholding some of last season’s money given the problems and Steve Dale has made reference to that number which he’d like to get his hands on.

The EFL and bury are so entrenched that I think the EFL’s position must now be:

* Pay all historic football creditor and secured football creditors in full.
* Prove you have money to complete the season.

That’s £3m+ in my workings.

The irony is, Chris Brass who started the claim that got this ball rolling should get paid his £100k in full.

Dale is effectively going to have to pay all of the expensive players who got bury promoted last season in full to have a chance of continuing in business.

It's a very fair point; creditors should be the first port of call for any available monies

But that's not a given. It also depends on any t&cs for distribution of the fund. It mightn't be within the remit of the efl to pay creditors, although a third party appointed to tidy up this sorry mess might be able to do

I don't honestly envisage any circumstances from here, which involves SD2 parting with, or promising, £3 million to keep 'the old lady' afloat.

It's a no-brainer from his point of view. It's easier, more convenient and definitely more profitable to let the club go to the wall and pick off the carcass whatever he can, in exchange for his £1 outlay.

Probably his ploy all along, but the prospects of him forking out silly money to pay the likes of Beckford for example, isn't the sort of thing he's likely to do.

I don’t disagree with that analysis SL.

The problem Steve Dale has is the sudden and public way that plays out. Not just for bury but for him.

Most corporate raiders (aka asset strippers) like to lurk in the shadows, no publicity or hassle leaving them to get on with it.

He’s managed to get himself a national profile out of this and for him that’s a bad thing. He’ll be more on the radar of people like HMRC than he ever was.

If Dale pays the historic creditors the £1.6m and can prove the funding exists then he can request that the EFL pay that solidarity payment of £700k and pocket everything as he runs them on less than a shoestring.

Conceivably he could run them at a profit with youth players, no training ground, zero back office staff - akin to a non-league club.

Of course that would see bury fall down the leagues but he’ll hide behind the being run sustainably line and very few could argue against that.

The last thing Dale wants is a violent public death of bury fc. He’d prefer a slower slipping away in the shadows of the non-league.

He owns the ground but with a mortgage on it. He’s not going to lose from here whichever way he goes.

Got them some publicity, but not the chance to land any meaningful blows. BBC are terrified of stepping outside their PC bubble, so it was all a bit sanitised and predictable, in the interests of 'balance'.

They must be a bit disappointed with the way it was orchestrated, but at least they got to publicise the problems.

Does that £100 k disappear into a big black hole, (somewhere in Prestbury) or is it held by the EFL pending the outcome of the current situation ? Must it be used to partially pay existing creditors, or paid into the pot as part of the required 'up front' money to secure their EFL place ?

That was me.
I’ve been trying to make the point for ages that it’s nobody’s fault but our own. I don’t buy into the disparity between premier league and lower league finances argument either. If they gave us more money further down the leagues there’d still be clubs (probably us) that wanted more to gain an advantage. That’s life. It’s like when you get a pay rise you think “this is great, extra cash” - a few months later and you don’t notice it.
I’d love to see us run properly (like you and Stanley), that’s all I want. And if attendances etc. mean we can only sustain Conference or League Two football then so be it. I’d rather that than nothing at all. Sadly, it seems it’s too late.

Nothing to do with the EFL its income to a Limited company which has 1 shareholder and 1 Director. He can do what he wants with the money. Being a member of the EFL has rules attached but their only sanction ultimately is the ban bury from playing games. Dale probably couldnt care less at this stage if they play or not, the EFL are going to be blames for the demise of the club along with Day, Dale is just the guy who ended up sitting in the hot seat when the music stopped. Or at least that is how he will play it..... who knows he might set up a phoenix club just to prove his intentions were good all along, he might even give the trophies back!

Regarding windfalls is a CVA similar to an IVA. I had one a while ago and recall the terms included having to declare any lump sums received or increase in disposable income

I’ve been whoring myself out to the BBC Shun and it finally paid off! 😜
To be honest mate, I became disillusioned with it all and then this week we had that bit of a run in with Kel etc (who I’ve always had a lot of time for) and it made me realise/remember that we’re not all that different really.
So here I am - I’ll stick about a bit and keep trying to bridge the gap because we’re alright some of us, as are you (it used to be a laugh meeting up pre-match), and amongst all this we’ve forgotten that.

All a bit late from the Neville clan, but in any case, rules are there to be obeyed and changing them retrospectively will have no effect on Bury. If they played by the rules in the first place, there wouldn't be a clamour to change them.

May 2013 - Neville Neville brokers deal for Stewart Day to buy bury.

March 2014 - Neville Neville brokers deal for the Class of 92 to buy non-league Salford City.

September 2014 - Billionaire Peter Lim buys 50% of Salford City from the Class of 92.

There’s almost something poetic about them getting Day and not the Class of 92 or the billions of Peter Lim.

Couldn’t agree more with this. The only fans that seem to be slagging off the EFL are us and Bolton. It’s not their fault, it’s ours.
