According to soccerbase hendo's goal today was his 50th for us. Can TVOS confirm that this is correct and which other players have achieved this.

I saw the highlights earlier and hendo's teammates looked extremely miffed when he made that rash second challenge. He owes them all a pint after that.

The programme for the Bury game shows he had 49 Dale career goals so yesterday made it 50

Good OP. Well done to Hendo on his milestone, but please work on your tackling, and try to calm down sometimes .😀

He has been a brilliant player for us, brilliant effort and cracking forward player for us.

Yes, I can confirm that yesterday was Henderson's 50th Dale goal, comprising 49 league and one FA Cup.

Gary Jones 80
Billy Bertram 74
Ronnie Cairns 73
Jimmy Wynn 65
Chris Dagnall 60
Frank Lord 56

Soccerbase have him on 43, but I've got him on 44. I think there was a goal in his first spell that was originally credited to someone else, but then later changed. I might trawl back through the TVOS archives later to find it.

So, I reckon it's six.

Thanks for the info. If hendo sees out his contact he could get close to Jonah's total.

Henderson is now level with Billy Bertram on 74. Should surpass Gary Jones by the end of the season hopefully.

What’s the goals per apps ratio on that list TVOS please? Dagnall’s must be pretty decent compared to others on that list.

I always thought that it was a bloody shame that Stevie Whitehall fell just 8 goals short of being in the 100 club.

Providing Hendo stays fit (and out of trouble), continues to be selected and scores at the same rate, he'll be vying for second place in that list by the end of 2019/20

He could of course continue beyond that, in which case Reg's record could be under threat. If either of those happens, it'll almost certainly mean Dale continuing and building on our momentum; which, as we've seen so far this season, isn't a continuous upward curve but a building and re-building process

Can't see him catching the top two. 50 plus goals at this stage of his career would be a big ask. I reckon he'd have to stay a central part of the team for three or four seasons beyond this to be pushing them.

But to be even making the top three with the likes of Jenkins and Whitehurst is a fantastic achievement, especially given the majority of it has been spent in League One.

There's a familiarity breeding contempt at times with Hendo in certain areas of the fanbase (not dissimilar to Hilly), and the negatives are dwelled on rather than the positives. His outside business interests should ensure that he'll never be in a position where he just sees out his contract, as whats more likely to see - someone in their mid 30's still playing a pivotal part in professional football or someone in and out of the matchday squad?

History should judge him as one of the greatest to have played for the club, and whilst its never easy to compare whilst they are playing, his record both as an individual and as a team player are up there with anyone.
