Thanks for the update.

On the subject of priority for away ticket sales, it's something that could be done to benefit both the club and fans alike: with each ST holder now being on the club's system, couldn't there be a points system introduced when purchasing away tickets from Dale in advance?

Almost every game has tickets on sale but many fans will wait and pay on the day, especially if prices are the same, but as we all know Dale usually get a small percentage for any they sell. If when a fan buys at Spotland points could be awarded and noted on the ST holder's record, then when there's a game like Fleetwood when we have more ST holders than tickets available, those with highest points get first option to buy.

Could be different points allocated for distance. eg. 50 for Portsmouth, 30 for Shrewsbury, 10 for Bury etc.

All very easy to administer as ST holders would just get used to producing their book when buying to have the points added to their record on the system. For those who buy for mates, they have to take along the books to claim the points. If fans want the points, then they'll police themselves and the impact on the club is minimal. In fact it would hopefully lead to them selling more tickets in advance as supporters look to boost their chances of getting a ticket in the future - the points could roll over season on season.

Is this something the Trust could put to the club?

Was nothing asked about how the kit was chosen this year and why the excellent idea to have fans come up with designs was scrapped? Or is this something that could be asked next week at the forum?

Also, who's the former player you're wishing to bring back? Jones?

And to be devil's advocate, I don't see any need for ST-holders to have priority away tickets. Unless we got to the play-offs or had another cup game against a small localish club, when realistically would this ever be an issue apart from at Fleetwood?

The need is the scenarios you mention and also to encourage fans to buy from Dale and increase what money we make from sales.

For example, the Barrow ticket issue would have been much easier to manage. Everyone would know where they stand. Also, looking at the numbers in that article and considering when the Bury game is, we potentially have slightly more ST holders than spaces in the away end there. What if it's a massive game? All about removing doubt.

On the kit, something needs to come out soon around whether supporters will be involved next year - it's the last year of the current Errea deal I think. Sales numbers will have already illustrated that doing it the way they have this year has/hasn't been as successful.

Long term that might be something worth looking at as part of a bigger picture - maybe a loyalty scheme where all purchases at Spotland are recorded, whether it be pints in the Dale Bar or purchases in the club shop.

I think there has to be some element of common sense about whether its worth coming up with a complicated ticketing scheme if its not needed. Priority for season ticket holders is not the same as guaranteed tickets, and even if we have a great season, and head to Bury with something riding on that game, the only people who'd miss out would be those who left it late to get their tickets. Realistically, I think the only issue we would have would in the Cup if we were to get a local game against a much smaller side than Barrow were, and would the chance of a one off game justify introducing a scheme? I think we'll always need to have some form of first come first served.

This suggestion would be even better if it were done in conjunction with a scrapping of admin charges, so that fans remote from the ground with STs wouldn't be penalised.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Can I ask a question, to the people who are now posting on here with (very good ) questions. Why are you asking the questions now after the Trust/Directors meeting has happened and not before the meeting? Did people on here/ Facebook/Twitter not have enough notice of the meeting?

My question on the subject was asked, it's just that I've tried to come up with even more help after they've answered it.

Nice, I know.

Fair point. The ticketing scheme I hadn't heard of before this thread, so couldn't question it. As for the kit question, I'm sure 442 had included it in his list of questions, so I assumed it would be asked.

I did indeed include a kit question, you're right.

Well worth joining the Trust for this valuable link between supporters and the club.

I'm sure the Trust have picked up a couple of issues from this messageboard in the last couple of months to take forward, these would be the main ones from the ST campaign:

What were identified as the biggest positives in terms of getting fans to buy into the campaign?

Were the club disappointed with the lack of movement both in terms of promoting the offer and the subsequent sales figures in the period between dropping the price to £250 and it then becoming £200? (We were averaging less than 10 a day over three weeks)

Also, just because: what was the decision making process behind choosing this season's kits (the home one especially) and how many do they hope to sell?

However, I'm more than happy to admit an error on my part as they weren't emailed in, though I did hope that posting would be enough and I'd forgotten about the meeting until sending in further questions (ticket priority and the one about what players would appear in friendlies on the same day)

While acknowledging my mistake, hopefully the Trust themselves will identify how using questions from here could encourage more interest in what they do and just take forward any issues that are of concern to fans. Especially in threads which are specifically promoting the link between supporters and the club.

Nae bother. Hopefully it can be asked at next week's forum.
