Maybe Froome's best win as he was actually put under pressure for a change, it was nice to see others (especially Bardet) giving it a go. I'm in Paris and went to the final stage today, contrary to what you see on TV with the booing, most of the French that I have spoken too have been very complimentary of Froome. Would love to see the race back on British soil in the near future.

Also brilliant win for the Women's Cricket team in the World Cup final. Been some brilliant performances by British para athletes in the World Para Athletics Championships in London. Currently watching the Lionesses in the Euros , hoping they can hold on to claim victory against Spain, after a great thrashing of Scotland the other night.

Remember I was in Paris on a student railcard inter-rail holiday many moons ago and saw the final stage. Didn't follow the TdF in those days and wondered what all the fuss was about with half of Paris closed! The organisers seemed to have designed the course against Sky's strength this year almost in an effort to try to create a more level playing field, perversely by reducing the number of mountain top finishes. That coupled with Froomey not being in mid-season form and the race jury sometimes looking the other way made this one of the best races in recent years. To think Sky did it without G for the majority of the race after he broke his collar bone probably made this "handicapped" win seem even more of an achievement? Certainly made great for great viewing and great racing and tip of the cap to Uran and Bardet for great podium performances. If AG2R strengthen their squad, it could be very interesting next year. A major disappointment was Cav crashing out early too. His days at the top must be coming to an end and the Champs Elysees sprint felt very flat without him to follow. Good look in the Vuelta Froomey. PS 5 British wins in the last 6 races. Can't be bad. [Post edited 24 Jul 2017 9:34]
