What reputation? The media have decided he is 'pubic enemy number one' and therefore have got it in for the lad no matter what he does. If he had stayed on his feet he would have got no credit for it whatsoever so he might as well go over.
In fact he is no better or worse than any other Premier League player but is more high profile & therefore better for the clicks which generate advertising revenue. |

How can you minimise the impact of the "foul" youve just commited? Look not just at McGahey but see Rathbones reaction when Ali hits the ground, then look at Lillis, hes livid. Just re-watching the highlights and that first Henderson chance when he shoots straight at Vorm. As he's trying to control the ball, a Spurs defender barges into him. What would have happened had he gone down?
As I said last night, I'm not comfortable with the Alli penalty, but I accept that's what qualifies as a penalty, so fair enough. I can see how it was given, it would not have surprised me if a card for diving had been given. Personally I would say it wasn't a pen but the ref gave it and that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned. On Twitter one Spurs fan said "Diving for a penalty to break the heart of a kid supporting their league 1 team, is that what we've come to? the magic of the F.A.
