When the Plymouth game was called off on safety grounds they said the pitch was playable after a week of snow and freezing temperatures. This would indicate Saturday will be in no doubt whatsoever as far as the playing surface is concerned. |  |

On a more serious note beyond the media hype are people really that bothered that Putin has decided to wipe out a text book traitor. Ok a copper has got ill and the British government wasn’t consulted but it’s not as though the US government or our government asks for permission from the Syrian or Pakistan government before it launches drone strikes that take out entire streets and apartment blocks killing innocent civilians as well as the intended target. We only get 4% of our power needs from Russia and by April we wont need any until November. The protests against fraccing by the great unwashed are what will ultimately freeze the poor and elderly to death especially on days when there is no sunshine and no wind to speak of and yet ther are trillions of cubic feet of gas under our feet. The war in Syria has been about routing two new pipelines through to Europe to reduce and ultimately eliminate the reliance on Russian gas. Oddly the UK has the least storage capacity for gas of all the main Northern European countries, a failing of politicians on both sides of the house that may well cost us dear in the near future. |  | | |
