Great news!

Happy with that, will provide a solid base alongside Perkins in the centre of midfield where we were weak last season and allow us to control games better.

Poll: Now the club has refused to move on sesaon ticket prices what will you now do?

That's a potentially great bit of business.

As he says, he's got unfinished business with us. If he does well, that can only benefit us on the pitch, and possibly with a decent sell on in the future. Should also take some of the pressure of Perkins if he's not up to playing a full season.

Delighted; looked a very good, creative and intelligent player and with Perkins, will allow our talented creative midfielders (Camps, Rathbone, Cannon, Morley, Adshead) to push forward and contribute more in the final third; something we didn't do last season.
Potentially a big money move in the future.

Hopefully this will help galvanise the team with lads they already know....our recruitment so far has been much better than last season (Brown wtf)........now, can we get a goal scorer please?

Also an option if McGahey doesn't stay.

The squad is taking shape nice and early with some good signings.....

Next signing will it be a forward !

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

Pleased with this. He impressed before his injury cut short his loan spell, and that was when we were really poor. I didn't realise he could play in defence too, that's a bonus. Four very good signings so far, and it's still the middle of June!

If Cannon signs then our midfield is looking strong. Please sign, Andy!

Happy with this signing.

He is not the quickest but he is decent on the ball and offers a bit more of a physical presence compared to other options in midfield.

Excellent ! I hoped this might be on Keith's agenda when I saw he had been released by Liverpool. The right age, the right pedigree, tall enough , and with a decent amount of league experience under his belt. I was happy with his performances last season but I think there is a very very good player in there and being here permanently will give him confidence to kick on. Well done KH, this is a much more interesting squad he is building than last years effort.

I thought he was quite ponderous at times when he played - slow on the ball and losing possession because of it. It might have just been a big step up from kids football to proper professional football and he expected more time? Maybe now he's our player he can come to terms a bit more with what is required. He's come through the Liverpool youth system so you would think that there is a real talent there. Hopefully Hilly can bring it out.

Thought the same - not quick enough to play an advanced role but capable of providing a solid base in defence / defensive midfield

Not delighted to see him back but if it helps free our other midfielders that's fine, and room for further development

Let's hope he is over his knee problem which recurred last season.

What I am pleased about is that the signing of Williams give us more options. With Perkins and Williams we have two potential holding midfielders which brings the flexibility to play one/both of them. Perkins could probably still play a more advanced role as well. Last season we struggled in midfield as we lacked defensive/controlling options in there. The likes of Camps, Rathbone, Cannon etc are better playing in more advanced roles which they will be able to do next season.

I agree about the getting caught on the ball etc comments that others have made but with a more solid midfield he will not have to take on so much and can play to his strengths.I would also expect his all round game to develop as well.

I think Williams will benefit from a proper preseason which is what he missed out on last year. Not sure how rigorous a Liverpool U23s team preseason is.

Enables camps to be more forward which is positive. Happy enough with mj's return

Bit of a curate's egg for me. He looked like he could become a decent player, but he didn't make us perform better as a team. It seems like paying Spurs was the only thing that could do that last season though.

I'm yet to be convinced that he can play the type of fast moving, one-touch stuff that Hilly advocates, but he definitely showed glimpses of natural ability. Maybe he can be assimilated and the gaffer can get the best out of him. Either that or he'll go the way of other potential talents like Donal. Either way, resistance is futile.

Oh and we are back to JW11 or JW12 again …… probably?

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Doesn’t sound good for Inman or Humphreys as they were available earlier unless it is about wages etc...

On another note, he’s not Irish either

We do need a striker, what about Jordan Lee Williams who was on loan to the buckets from Huddersfield last season, that would be some publicity
