Just finished watching the highlights - good call MD. Ignoring all the ancillary posing, his ability to strike a ball with any part of his body is virtually without equal. His dribbling isn't bad either. Can't believe the willpower of one striker could equal the goal-scoring ability of that cracking Spanish team. Are you reading Keith? I've been a bit cynical regarding football over the past few years. This World Cup as been great so far. I've really enjoyed the games I've seen. Some good sides out there and some brilliant players. Some smaller teams have given it a real go, Iceland, Peru, the Aussies all great to watch.

As mentioned on commentary, first time they lost the opening game since losing to Algeria in 82 when they went on to the final. Wasn't counting chickens, just having a bit of fun ahead of my trip over to Cologne on Tuesday when, hopefully, I'll have bragging rights. Not counting chickens on that front either though!

Well after the first set of matches I can honestly say it's been a cracking start to this WC. Some shocks, some superb goals and matches. Even some dull games have ended with a late goal. no 0-0's yet

Argentina in trouble. Brazil not quite home and dry yet. Germany could be out in 45 minutes. Still an excellent World Cup as we get to the end of the second round of games in the group stage and still not a 0-0........yet. Could be an England Nigeria final.
