WC 16:52 - Jun 14 with 13651 views | D_Alien | Decent opening first half Saudis look wide open at the back and the hosts took full advantage. At least it's not a bore draw

WC on 20:03 - Jun 15 by MoonyDale | This Portugal v Spain game has been breathtaking to watch so far, Ronaldo for a hat trick? |
Just finished watching the highlights - good call MD. Ignoring all the ancillary posing, his ability to strike a ball with any part of his body is virtually without equal. His dribbling isn't bad either. Can't believe the willpower of one striker could equal the goal-scoring ability of that cracking Spanish team. Are you reading Keith? Here's hoping we can find a diamond in the rough that we can polish to produce a fraction of that.

I've really enjoyed the games I've seen. Some good sides out there and some brilliant players. Some smaller teams have given it a real go, Iceland, Peru, the Aussies all great to watch. Just watching Costa Rica v Serbia. Very entertaining.

WC on 17:01 - Jun 17 with 2471 views | Fondles | Thinkin it's a good thing our game being one of thelast few. Least we have been able to enjoy the first round of fixtures without doom and gloom! I know it's only matchday 1 but i wouldnt be afraid against most teams so far (Spain, Portugal and mexico exceptions). Buzzing for a good old Monday p*ssup

As mentioned on commentary, first time they lost the opening game since losing to Algeria in 82 when they went on to the final. Wasn't counting chickens, just having a bit of fun ahead of my trip over to Cologne on Tuesday when, hopefully, I'll have bragging rights. Not counting chickens on that front either though!

That would be the 1982 tournament when West Germany and Austria came up with a convenient result in their final group game... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/26708385

Good spot. I remember that happening but didn't connect it with the 82 tournament. Could that be referred to VAR nowadays

Sweden beating S. Korea today has really thrown tha cat amongst the pigeons in that group. Sweden v Germany is now huge as even a draw will put Germany in deep trouble. Could then be that Sweden and Mexico play out a draw as per 1982 to put Germany out ( assuming Mexico get at least a point against S. Korea)
WC on 20:46 - Jun 20 with 1832 views | Nigeriamark | Well after the first set of matches I can honestly say it's been a cracking start to this WC. Some shocks, some superb goals and matches. Even some dull games have ended with a late goal. no 0-0's yet A bonus is that England havn't put a dampner on things...... yet !! Really enjoying it so far

You posted this just before my thread so I have copied and pasted my own comment to keep 1 thread hoing Argentina in trouble. Brazil not quite home and dry yet. Germany could be out in 45 minutes. Still an excellent World Cup as we get to the end of the second round of games in the group stage and still not a 0-0........yet. Could be an England Nigeria final. Seriously some cracking final qualifying round ties next week. Nigeria v Argentina will be a tasty one

unbefeckinbelievable. Fair play to Germany that’s why they are winners. Yet another fantastic match. Roll on tomorrow. If we lose to Panama I’ll eat their hat
