0-4 oh dear! In my heart of hearts I wasn't really expecting anything today (despite last week's result and performance) and I suppose it underlines how important the results against mid and lower tables teams are going to be this season. Let's hope they don't capitulate completely!

Another routine hammering by a “big side”. There will be no Southampton here.

Quality move and shot into the bottom corner. Clinical finishing probably scored 4 goals from 5on target. Going to be a tough last 25 mins as I think they’ll be going hard for more

Time for Hill to go. I'm not blaming him for today's result as I never expected us to win, but I am blaming him for today's performance. What tactical awareness did we show? Why do we keep chopping and changing both the team and the position that the players play in? I'm not surprised that the players don't know where they are up to.

It's okay saying he has a 5 year contract and we will have to pay compensation to him, but in the meantime, fans are paying good money to watch dross week after week. We have never done what other clubs do and gambled on a really good manager who can possibly keep us up or even take us further. We always seem to get someone in the Hill / Parkin / Coleman / Barrow style which clearly isn't working. If we keep doing the same things, we will keep getting the same results. It's time to try something new before it's too late and all that work gets wasted by Hill and his merrymen taking us down.

We didn’t watch dross last week. Hill’s accountable along with his players today, but to try and say we haven’t gambled on a really good manager is incorrect. We have, twice. Keith Hill.

Back to the game and the current situation: to see someone like Perkins not even getting onto the pitch must lead to questions about why he was recruited. To see Henderson back in midfield in the second half a week after getting a hat trick when we have so many options in that area is a bit demoralising. To see players looking a bit unsure where they should be is definitely a step backwards.

We need consistency in our plans, that’s A or B. At the moment we look to keep ripping up the notebook and can’t seem to decide what’s best. One thing is for sure we can’t afford for players like Inman and Cannon to be playing in “bounce” games and not making the matchday squad for long.

Camps and Wilbraham can’t expect to start next week, Williams11 can. Him and Hart were the positives.

Big knee jerk reaction there Ninco.

If you had said that after the win last week it would have been foresight.

Hill has said in the past that 10 league games is a good time to assess where a team stands.

If your right about Hill then half a dozen L1 managers will be expecting the sack next weekend.

Had a horrible feeling something like that might happen. I expect the Burton game was a massive wake up call. It was only a matter of time before they put a team to the sword. Even at 4-1 up they kept going for it.......
Sorry what am I on it is our right to win or draw every game and if we don't sack the manager, if the new manager loses sack them, P45s all round and a taxi to the labour exchange.

Hill and Perkins have sadly fallen out. It’s a shame if that is affecting team selection.

Any minute now somebody is going to call you an Oldham fan, Bury fan, or troll.
We can’t compete with the likes of Sunderland, their wage bill is massive compared to ours, we have the best manager the club has ever had, you only post when we lose, 2 promotions and a trip to Wembley blah blah blah.

Not at all. I was one of the people who never wanted Hill back in the first place as I thought it was disgusting that he just walked out when Barnsley approached him and the comments he made about the fans. However, when he was appointed, it was a case of lets see what he can do. Always at the front of my mind is that both before he left and when he came back, he was backed financially by the board much more than they backed the likes of Parkin, Coleman etc. so naturally, I would expect to see a better set of results from Hill than I did from the other managers. I'm sure you will agree that none of the other managers had a set of backroom staff anything like Hill has got at his disposal, and despite the bigger budget, bigger backroom staff, bigger squad etc, we are not seeing any better from Hill than we saw from the likes of Parkin.

I know Hill got us promotion to league 1 twice, and I applaud that, but we can't keep using that year after year and to answer your question, he got us a win last week, but a win doesn't make a season. We need a lot more consistency to survive in league 1 and we wont get it from Hill.

I got Lynched on here for saying the same about Coleman, then a few weeks later, the same people who did the lynching were also calling for Coleman to go. A manager doesn't keep his influence on the players indefinitely. There comes a point when the players lose respect of the manager and I feel that the time has come.

Wilbraham and Camps today were so disappointing.
I can't see how Alby is earning a wage, that chance in the first 10 minutes, anyone could have scored but yet again he found Row Z.

He's been such a disappointment.

Wish I'd chosen a different username...

I think the past two results are going to be the story of our season - comfortably beating the lesser sides but getting mauled by the sides who are a class above, as Sunderland were today. Because that’s what we are, a mid-table side who’ll occasionally be counting how many points we are off the playoffs and occasionally be looking anxiously over our shoulders, but ultimately we’re pretty middle of the road. We score a lot of goals but our defence is not doing its job at all.

Up until the second goal today we were well in the game and playing ok. After 3-0 though both sides knew the game was finished so Sunderland stopped trying and our hearts had completely gone. As a result the second half was a non-event, of course aided by Hill’s masterstroke of putting our best forward, the one who’d scored a hat trick last week, into central midfield. Who knows, it could’ve been so much different if that easy Wilbraham chance at 0-0 had fallen to Henderson, or Rathbone, or Camps, or pretty much anyone in the squad but Wilbraham because let’s be honest his finishing is dire.

Rafferty continues to have a poor season, Delaney was terrible, Camps was the worst player on the pitch. On the positive side though Done showed he’s still a good finisher if given the opportunity, Williams11 played well and looked lively, and it’s still a nice sunny day.

Getting anything from that game was going to be tough. First 30 odd minutes we held our own. Yes there were defensive errors but they still had to capitalise on them.

If a win doesn't make a season why does a loss away from home to the team third in L1 make a season?

We are 14th. I'd be surprised if we finish bottom half this year.

As I stated in my post, I am not basing my views on one game. I never wanted Hill back in the first place.

Might've been a different game had Wilbraham capitalised on being set up by Hendo, we were matching them at that point. After their first goal, it became a procession until they took their foot off the gas

One shining light was Hart's performance, he looked very accomplished both in defence and attack

At least we scored, and i feel Done should be starting in place of Gillam
