The story was Man Utd had arranged a behind closed doors game with Dale so they could have a look at Adshead. I'd say if he carries on making an impression with England this week then we could be seeing something happen in January - there will be more teams looking at his progress from now on. He was rumoured to be linked with Bundesliga and Serie A clubs too I seem to remember. Selfishly, I'd like to see a bit more of him before he's inevitably sold. |
Bundesliga would be a good shout where they take young English lads and put them into games. Going to a big prem league side to be licensed out or never make the first team for 6 years may make sense salary wise but not necessarily football wise |  | | |

As said earlier Daniel must have really made a good impression in training to get a start in his first taste of an England squad - superb stuff! Especially when he's training alongside the best young players from the likes of City,Liverpool,Arsenal,Chelsea and Spurs. Then when the England keeper was sent off after only 5 minutes it would have been easy for the coach to take off the 'Rochdale' lad - the fact he chose to keep him on and he was rewarded with a debut goal is a brilliant story. Shame they couldn't hold on for the win but Daniel must be thrilled how it went.

Often with these types of transfers the young player is loaned back to the selling club - so I can't see that being an issue. If any Premier club offers silly money (millions) then he will be sold. The only issue if he came back is they would expect him to be getting proper game time. | |

It certainly adds to the (good) dilemma that Hill has in developing his talent in a way which provides the best opportunity for Adshead and for Dale. Bringing him onto the pitch at Wembley was an indicator that he was seeking the right type of experiences for him, so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out now the inevitable attention from further up the pyramid starts to rachet up
I think we will see more of him, but not necessarily every week and it'll partly depend on our need for league points. The cup games offer further opportunity for exposure and it'd be great to see him starting against Portsmouth, for instance |
