Centre back, expected to join according to Pete O'Rourke. Just left Yeovil by mutual consent.

Looking Donnellan up on the interweb he's actually from London and plays for Ireland under heritage laws.
As long as he's big and brave and can defend he'll do for me though wherever he comes from.
Mind you, I said that about Canavan after he arrived one January.

Canavan was excellent when he arrived & combined with the arrival of Holt transformed our season. It was only when he received a 2 year contract he became a donkey.

Looked very good doing simple things on bad pitches when he first joined. Bradford in particular but when it came to playing on a better pitch and having to think about his next move, he was absolutely woeful.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

As an aside, Alex Dobre has now joined Yeovil on loan from Bournemouth.

He was excellent with Ashley Eastham, unfortunately when AE left, Canavan and our entire defence nose dived.

How Ollie Lancashire was preferred to Eastham for 18 months also baffled me.

For a CB, Dawson apart, Hilly doesn't half make some strange decisions with our defence.

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!

Yes he was excellent whilst on loan from Scunthorpe. Almost everyone on here hoped we would sign him permanently that summer. It was when then his formed declined.

Still think this will happen - more permanent than the loan signings.

I hope you are right. One defender signed on loan doesn't negate the requirement for permanent signings if they're decent.

I advocated for the permanent signing of Canavan at the time but to call him excellent in any capacity is a stretch. He was and always will be a decent aerial presence and a row Z merchant. Eastham masked his deficiencies and once he left, Canavan showed his true colours

Hopefully Donnellan is close to signing with him playing in the Manchester Cup today.

He is extremely highly rated from what I’ve seen & wasn’t released, he cancelled his contract. You could at least base your persistent negativity on some facts.

A bit like that Lucketti bloke we released in 1989, you mean?

Or Scott Hogan. He was rubbish when he came back.

Or all those rubbish players we've had over the years who have been released or had their contracts cancelled by other clubs. Take Ian Henderson for instance; useless...

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
