Few things from tonight:

The board acknowledged the strength of feeling around Hill’s comments about supporters after games. They are also encouraging him to be more open with fans.

They have confidence in the manager.

Season ticket prices won’t be increased next year.

When asked about Hill publicly making comments about fans, they at first tried to say that he acknowledges fans at the end of every game, which was met with disagreement and they later said that he would have been frustrated in the heat of the moment and they think it would be a good idea if he did interviews the day after a match.

They are training 2 days a week at Platt Lane for a fraction of what Bury are paying for Carrington, and also do 2 days a week elsewhere. They would like training facilities in Rochdale and have been looking in to commercial partners to help fund this but it sounded a long way off.

They said that other chairmen in L1 are sinking millions in to their clubs but are still L1. The club has a policy not to overspend and we have seen what happens to other clubs who have overspent and gone out of the league. They regard the season as successful as we are still in league 1 and although they were cagey about Keith Hill's targets, they said that because we are still in L1, we are happy with Hill's performance. They would not discuss salary or bonuses, and said that when they say undisclosed fee, it is illegal to quote the fee as it's written in to the contract.

They have also brought an outside company in to ensure that the lottery is legal.

When asked if they were happy with Steve Collis as goalkeeping coach given the problems in that area, they basically said that Hill is happy with all his backroom staff.

It also sounds like David Kilpatrick was banned but is now allowed back in the boardroom and has retained his seat in the directors box.

Season tickets are set to remain at the same price next season.

They try not to talk about players being injured in case other clubs get wind of it and work out which team we will be playing.

They praised the groundsman and said that several referees have been impressed with the pitch given the time of year.

They said that they needed more people and experience on the board, which is why Gina and Frances were appointed, but all directors have to pay a fee to become a director.

Thanks Ninco.

Given we have the worst defence in the League and are hovering around the relegation zone, I don’t think keeping the injury situation a secret is particularly bothering other teams!

They also reminded people who were complaining about the players being sold and replaced with youth signings that the transfer window is still open and not to rule out permanent signings before the end of the month. People responded by saying are we waiting for the players nobody wants, and they said it's difficult to get permanent signings in January as most players are contracted up to July and wont walk away from a contract. They also said that the paperwork is extremely complex and it can take time to reach agreements etc.

For what it's worth, my understanding of the Sam Hart situation is that attempts were made to make the deal last until the end of the season, but Blackburn had previously been paying 80% of his wages,

For the deal to continue, Blackburn wanted Dale to pay his whole salary, which the club declined to do.

Deal over, Sam Hart returned. His salary was out of our league, quite literally.....

Hart was on loan until the end of the season, so no further attempts to keep him would have been required. Furthermore, as 442’s already pointed out, he wasn’t even in the squad for a while before he returned to Blackburn. I think someone’s giving out damage limitation with that story you’ve heard, Sudden.

Thanks to everyone who’s posted summaries. I’m a bit disappointed we didn’t get more than a skirting around the questions about Hill’s inability to form a working relationship with his players though.

Interesting that Smallwood’s rejoined the board. He’s another who lives quite a distance away from the town, so it’ll be interesting to see how involved he’ll be.

John Smallwood (and his father, in years gone by) have been supporters of this club for 40 years or more.

They regularly stood on the terraces - week in, week out - like many of us did.

I have no idea where he lives, or how he comes to have been elected and then re-elected to the board, but be in no doubt that he is a dyed-in-the wool Dale fan and will have the best interests of the club foremost in his mind.

An attempt to adjust the agreement to allow us to sign him permanently at the end of his loan period, may have meant an 'adjustment' in the loan terms. However, you may well be right, Shun. It may be nothing more than a convenient story.

In the same way, all the talk and hot air about disharmony and fall-outs in the dressing room has no more credibility.

Nothing like gossip and rumour to keep a message board ticking over.

Went to the forum and discussed it with a fellow Daley who also attended and is far more perceptive than me on such matters.
All the BS about "never had there been more work done to find a proper training ground, in my time on the board" was historically naive from Bottomley at best. Andrew Kelly and The Trust have put loads of work into that by fundraising and finding suitable sites (unsuccessfully) over many years.
CEO announces the board have "complete confidence" in Keith Hill as manager. If you care about the club as much as you professed to do at the forum, you clearly haven't watched 18 months of mostly bob football.
What D Alien said about the new Chairman on P2 of this thread, I agree with. "what was most telling was his lack of engagement" . It was announced at the start of proceedings that he has a 23% shareholding in RAFC. Nobody in recent years has ever held that much individually. I guess (speaking as a shareholder) he's inherited his dads and bought Chris Dunphy out to get that many. I get the impression that the new Chairman is a Dale fan, but struggles when dealing with people who don't watch from the directors box. This has left him with little or no understanding of the fans on the terraces of The Sandy and Pearl St. "Struggles to deal with the hoi polloi" was one post-forum comment.
I asked him a question about giving our most successful Chairman ever (CD) the usual vice-presidents honour. He said CD asked for time to think it over and that "he'd get back to me" - we have never ever met so he hasn't a clue who I am so how is he going to "get back to me" ??
Any questions critisising the football were swiftly moved on from.
Good that the event happened, it seems clear we ALL want the best for RAFC. Leaving that to Hill (K) Bottomley (D) and Kilpatrick (A) seems a very fragile and potentially risky option.
Watch and wait.

The chairman didn't mean he'd get back to you, he said he was waiting for Chris Dunphy to get back to him!

And regarding the contents about his incapacity to connect with the common man I'd agree to some extent.

However if I had to face some of the derision and moronic questions posed tonight I would struggle to deal with it as calmly as our board did.

Of course DB answered most questions, he is the club employee that not only has day to day interaction with the staff and other clubs but ultimately is responsible for that and reporting to the chairman and the board.

I felt it was appropriate they shielded any info about the managers contract and they offered assurances regarding their long term aims for the club and their goal to do this without risking the long term future.

Apologies I couldn't attend nor send questions in via the Trust but was anything asked/said about the board changes, Dunphy in particular, or the process involved in appointing the chief executive?

Or the manner in which he "left", with working at silly o'clock this morning there wasn't a chance I could be there nor am I a trust member, just amazed if so nobody(if allowed?) asked about CD's exit in particular....

I usually go to forums and come out feeling better about things, even if it is lip service. Last night I left the forum feeling more worried than when I went in.

Last night wasn't a chance to see the Chairman in action. Its very clear he is chairman in name only and it very quickly became the "David Bottomley Show".

Lot of answers skirted around and the only people on the top table who came across well were Col and Frances along with John Smallwood at the end.

All the points were covered on this thread but my take on it is this:

Chairman lives down south but will be as involved as he can be but clear that DB running things. Chairman in name only.

Clough loan expired 7th Jan (as we know said DB to which I shouted, we didn't know, you don't tell us anything) but he's now not injured and we're trying to get him on another loan deal.

Training facilities still an issue as they have been for 20 years. Train twice a week at Platt Lane which are tremendous facilities at a fraction of the price Bury pay for Carrington. Still attempting to find our own facilities in the borough.

Cashed in on Cannon as his deal was up and we have clauses in the deal such as an added fee when Pompey get promoted. McGahey was a "football" decision.

Club firmly behind Hill. Success is League One status. Staying up would be classed as success and bleated on about history of us being in League Two all our lives etc.

Richard Wild questioned the Goldbond and why we'd hired a company to take over that had failed at various clubs which he listed and said he'd asked Bottomley by email about it but he didn't reply.

Club weighing up whether to have a gala dinner type event for end of season but as a seperate do to the end of season awards night. Club gauging opinion and liasing with the Trust. Frances fielded that question.

David Kilpatrick was banned from the boardroom at the beginning of the season but the issue resolved.

Chairman couldn't answer how long he intended to be chairman for. Was asked if he sees himself here in 12 years like Dunphy but answered with he didn't know where he'd be in 12 months let alone 12 years.

If I've missed anything I apologise but I left feeling worse than I went in and I've only ever had that once from a fans forum before.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

David Kilpatrick is not related to Andrew Kilpatrick is he? Why was David banned from the boardroom - I don't suppose that was explained?
Now with Smallwood signing up again it all seems quite bizarre and I wonder what's been going on.
