Don't take me to task on this, but I can't get as worked up about this as NM and many posters on here.
Valid point about Studds (my real ale commitment can't bring me to say the word 'Ca...', Car....'. Nope not going to happen). Fire Regs are not my thing, but I can't imagine that an enclosed space of that size and capacity is allowed to have only one exit. What is probably more of a concern is possibility of crushing in and around what will be our one access to bogs/refreshments/Studds given a greater proportion of the stand than usual will be using one access point. On that point, and if season ticket numbers permitted, it might have been better making a 60 home/40 away split of the stand to better equalise access numbers.
We're not the first fans ever to have been moved to make a few bob, and we won't be the last. Given that the Club has a very limited income stream and given we have a stadium that generally achieves only 25%-ish home occupancy, the Club needs to look at how to work the stadium more flexibly. I think it does need a plan - known and (if reluctantly) accepted by supporters - that when teams with a large travelling support come to town they can be accommodated thereby increasing the club's income.
Not taking NM's hardline approach and have not considered giving the Sunderland game a miss. I have a contingency in mind for pre-match drinks given that it's likely to be very busy in the pubs and bars of Rochdale. I'm planning on getting a couple of hours in at the Oldham Beer Festival! | | | |

Excellent idea about establishing future distribution of away fans beyond Willbutts, if the occasion demands it. The way to do this would be through proper consultation involving the most interested party of all - the fans
I suppose the established channel of the Trust (as a whole... ) would be the place to start that consultation. Make it meaningful, and not just a cosmetic exercise such as sticking someone on a top table | |

I have had an email from RMBC today confirming they are happy with segregation arrangements. Security has to remain confidential. Happy for Studds to open for home fans only.

We stayed in Sunderland for the weekend after our game there, went out at night with 'their boys'. They looked after us & we said we'd meet up for a drink in the return game. Don't be fooled though, they said Scunthorpe fans attacked their pub (Wheatsheaf) & CS gassed it, kids were in there so they said they were taking a mob down there to sort them out & smash the place up. So, 2 blocks (approx.) netted off, say 750 seats, plus the cost of 2 rows of stewards (assume 50 on £50 each additional costs), plus how many Wycombe tickets given away say 200 that will largely be given to fans who would have paid anyway - another 4 grand hidden cost in affording 532 Sunderland fans?
200 Sunderland fans paying a premium to dine and will have to somehow be transferred to their seats. These could and should have been accomodated in the designated away stand.

Quite simply, if the Club had been serious about making lots more money by substantially increasing Sunderland’s allocation, they would have given them the Sandy , and all of the Sandy’s ST holders could have been given a straight swap for either the Main Stand or Pearl Street.

I’m not directly affected by the moving of some season ticket holders, but I am sure every schooligan will be sitting in season ticket seats nearest to the away fans, which will affect me. Our hapless stewards won’t do anything about it and we’ll have displaced fans there, who’ll have to find other seats that may have been purchased. This is all painfully inevitable. Also noticed there’s only three turnstiles for the stand that’ll have the biggest number of home supporters in and the ticket office/cabin is right next to it, so big queues there right next to the inevitable last minute queues to get in. |  | | |

The licensing authority is RMBC. GMP have attended meetings and as I understand it are happy that the security arrangements PROPOSED are acceptable. The details have to remain secret according to RMBC email to me, but they have been satisfied by the width of netted area and the 2 banks of stewards.
I would like to see GMPs threat to close block U in writing from them, to be fair, I guess that would need to be a freedom of Information request.
I seem to remember posting on here I was speaking to a higher ranking police officer after the Bradford game who was getting some stick from home fans about the delay in the Police responding. He told me the club should be self sufficient with stewards trained to deal with such events, in sufficient numbers for the crowd expected, and that the club has to call in the Police for assistance, which then becomes chargeable to the club but may also reflect on the on-going safety certificate.
But we can sell 200 meals, warmed up on site, to a group of fans never to return, then scratch our heads as to why home fans desert the club owned hostelry for those always welcoming nearby. | |
