play offs etc so far 07:42 - May 12 with 9480 viewsfrenzied

Great to see Conrad Logan in fine form yesterday..
Scott Wiseman on his way to league 2 with Salford.
Sunderlands attendance was far lower than I would have expected for a play off.
Craig D throwing up at the WBA game..off at half time.
If Tranmere get promoted then they along with Luton and Sheff Utd will have all had back to back promotions!!...im not sure but have Salford also had back to back promotions?

Commentator: "Chris Maguire had a terrible time at bury... then again, everyone had a terrible time at bury last season."

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

The whole lot of them on that side of the pitch were going ballistic, especially the scrumpyhead who you could clearly see putting the boot in,so glad the w*ankers will be playing us again next season. What a poor game though,Portsmouth couldn`t and Sunderland wouldn`t,I`m sure those young lads at Charlton will make mincemeat out of the Black Cats next week, assuming they take care of Doncaster.

Personally I feel that the quality of 'football' on display was of a very poor standard and a bad advertisement for Divn.1 football. On the night neither side looked capable of staying in the Championship.

A horrible club with more than their fair share of disgusting "fans". Made my night that theyll be staying in league 1.

My thoughts exactly. What an awful game perhaps having watched Leeds and Derby the night before our view may be coloured but Sunderland (perhaps) could be on the same pitch certainly as one or both of those teams next season.

The quality of the games so far has been of a good standard..bar the Pompey game against Sunderland..I’m hoping that Villa Charlton and Tranmere win their finals...so we get Sunderland back to Spotland again..and the prospect of mug no.2...Tranmere ..I’ve never seen them play live at Spotland and not too far for away game either..Villa..just prefer them to Lampards team

Should be stramash, I imagine. A Scottish word for a penalty-box scramble.

Evidently derived from the old French word 'escarmoche' meaning a skirmish. You learn a lot on this board. On the continental theme I've always thought Tony Andreu, playing for the Accies yesterday, a decent player when I've seen him. He's probably going to stay north of the border I imagine following his release from Coventry.

When have you seen him? He was ace at Accies a few years ago before he followed his manager to Norwich. He hasn’t been much cop since.

Only on the box when he was on loan at Rotherham. Probing midfielder who always had an eye for goal. Got crocked (ACL I think) at the beginning of the season before last. I confess an interest as he rented an apartment of ours!

I mentioned him on this forum a few years back, having seen what he was capable of while at Hamilton.

His move to Norwich was a step too far him, it would seem, if not his manager.

He’s failed to live up to that Hamilton form everywhere else in England since, Rotherham included.

He had a brief reprise at Dundee United, which is probably indicative of his level these days.

I'll be rooting for Tranmere today based solely on Nigel Blackwell/Half Man Half Biscuit being longstanding fans. Hope they're smiling when the evening sun goes down...

Tranmere or Newport (I wouldn’t be displeased with the latter - it’s a nice drive down there and I hope, perchance naïvely, that as it’ll be their first experience at this level they might struggle more than Tranmere)
Charlton (Sunderland’s a great away day, they bring more fans, and I have a soft spot for Charlton after the game last season)
Villa (Hogan money)

Arsenal (can’t stand Chelsea)
Liverpool (I’m a bit captivated by their romantic history in Europe, and I think they’re the most entertaining side in England)

So Tranmere just edge it ... probably better for Dale away supporters-wise and the shorter journey.

Perkins played the full two hours, and picked up his usual yellow card.
