I heard the score for the re-arranged Blackburn v Rochdale game played at Blackburn today was 5-1.

Well playing away at a team a division above, and with a lot of new players, was never going to be easy. Different if we were playing a team in same division, a league game, would have something to worry about if we suffered an heavy defeat.

Yes, just seen this on our local news......all in aid of MND......Stephen gave a speech but poor lad went to pieces as the crowd applauded his efforts.

Looked a bit frail but not too bad.....Great to see Klopp engaging with everyone and Stephen's wife Steph in attendance.

Totally agree. At times of hardship for a good cause most football fans come together, regardless of club, to help a worthy cause, we have seen this ourselves from many fans of other teams.

Real life overtakes football rivalry!!!!

Usual squad numbers showing.
Slightly worrying that there is no sign of Ollie and one of the youth team players has No. 14
Hope it's just a case of Rathbine taking a new number?

Seeing as he's just signed a new 3 year deal I feel like it'd have taken a special offer to take him away.

BBM said Rathbone and O’Connell picked up slight strains in Portugal and he’s being extra careful with them this summer.

It was a good goal but not much else to write home about. God knows why we’ve started playing it about at the back, especially short goal kicks to defenders in the area because the rules now allow it. Totally exposes players like McNulty and Delaney.

That pitch, on first viewing, is a real worry.

First half we did okay. Good cross and header for our goal. Second half they played much better and we ended up with loads of kids playing and Calvin at centre back.

I thought the new left back did okay. Morley and Camps had a few nice touches and Delaney was alright. Williams dwelling on the ball for their second was awful. For them Pritchard looked a good player.

I suppose it was a decent run out, but we are lacking depth and miss McLaughlin, Rathbone and O'Connell.

Good to be back. First half thought we looked decent but they grew stronger as the half went on. Superb goal from Hendo who started the move with a Zidane turn on the half way line, and he produced a wonderful header from a superb Norrington-Davies cross.

Played three up front in spells with Camps and Pyke supporting Hendo up top and then switched to 4-4-2 with Camps and Hendo up front and Dooley and Pyke out wide.

Second half was really poor but a load of substitutions and position changes saw to that and indicated that we are some distance away from having a squad to compete. At one point our back line was Matheson, Andrew, Delaney and Gillam. Surely BBMs way of asking for help?

MJ Williams dallied on the ball for their secondand then both Delaney and RND both got dummied for the third.

Alex Pritchard was outstanding for Huddersfield.

Trialist was Johnny Smith from Bristol City, a left winger who was at Tranmere on loan last season and did well at Fylde before that.

Pink kit looks ace, Huddersfield kit looks horrendous.

Ethan Hamilton watching on along with Keith Hill apparently.

Based off that, and based off looking at our squad, we are a good three or four away from a decent squad.

Points I took out of the game

Hendo and Camps are our best players and I really hope we keep hold of both of them. Camps was also played quite high up in an attacking role.

Dooley doesn't look very fit at all so I don't know what's going on there but it was no surprise he went off at half time. Done came on for him and looked very sharp until they're goals and the substitutions killed the game.

RND looks like much more of a defender than we've had recently at left back. Not very fast but looks strong enough and could probably fill in at CB. I expect he'll be an early crosser of the ball rather than one to get to the byline. His crossing was mostly ok think he got the assist which was perfect but then another went pretty wayward so jury is still out.

Morley impressed again as he always does. Obviously needs game time though to get up to speed.

Tavares looked lively in his brief couple of times with the ball and could be an option from the bench for us to add something different to our attacking line.

The trialist also looked reasonable he had pace and linked up well with Hendo. He did look young though and would be more of one to develop.

Defence worries me at the moment. Yes it wasn't our strongest but at some point in the season that could be what we have to go with.

Andrew coming on at centre back might be an indication of his new role but I'm not reading too much into Gilliam playing at Left Back.

Other positions, right back isn't an issue. Centre of defence is a big issue. I don't really want either McNulty or Delaney starting the season and sincerely hope O'Connell can hit the ground running when he recovers from his niggle.

The defensive midfield role is also a big issue. MJ is a good footballer but wants far too much time on the ball and doesn't fill me with confidence. I would be looking at really trying to bring a midfielder in who can offer defensive support and can get stuck in, if Ethan Hamilton becomes available, I want us to move heaven and earth to bring him back.

Wilbraham isn't the answer to me either, he turned up for two months last season and will be 40 before the end of the season. Another energetic forward player would be a necessity for me as well, maybe Jonny Smith is that guy, BBM evidently sees that area as an issue as well.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

FWIW, I thought Delaney did OK last night, he looks to have filled out a bit and was up against some quick forwards buy looked fairly calm and got his head to some good clearances. The new Left-back was a bit shaky to start and improved as the game went on and he figured out the pace he was up against, his cross for Henderson's header will have added to his confidence levels.
Morley didn't look at all out of place and putting Camps further forward looked to be a good move as he was able to lift his head a bit earlier.
The lack of bodies available was obviously highlighted by the non-appearance of 4 players and the early departure of Doolan who is becoming something of an enigma, clearly talented but prone to disappearing.
Jimmy Keohane vs Pritchard was a difficult watch as Jimmy was turned inside out more than a 5-year-olds jumper. But he stuck at it and will have a long wait before a better player than Pritchard takes him on.
All in all a decent work out against a better team than they will probably come up against for the rest of the season. Maybe a bit too much ball-holding in their own half and not enough quick movement from back to front but more time on the pitch may help to solve that particular problem although to be fair I have been saying that for 3 seasons now.
