True. you just have to think of Doncaster in 1997/8:

We were hopeless that season, yet beat Doncaster 7-1 on aggregate!

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I would be extremely surprised if they don't start the season.
It wouldn't be that hard to cobble together a team; whether or not it would be competitive enough to claw back a -12 point deficit is another matter.

It's not just about cobbling together enough players to take to the pitch, it's all the behind the scenes stuff that hasn't been going on with Dale closing the club as it were....policing, catering, safety certs, cleaning, running repairs, ticketing, stewards , the list is endless and none of it has been done if you believe what has been said on their forum....If I had to put money on it today I would bet on no game being played.....

Poll: Hill in or out? 2nd referendum.....

Most importantly as the grass been cut....

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

Rewarded because BWFC & BFC will play the woe is us card getting the maximum tv exposure.

Sky playing up to the poor little blighters that have been hard done by.

It’s a kick in the kahunas for all clubs trying to get by the right way.

Hope the game starts with them both on -12 it finishes 0-0 and both clubs move onto -11.

The perfect scenario is it ends nil nil and both teams get points deduction for fielding eligible players could both be on - 15 by the time they play us.

This is not the time for bickering.

I remember the home game. I think we went 3-0 up after about 20 minutes, then declared.

Didn't Donny have ex Dale midfielder Lee Warren and ex Man City youngster (now a veteran) Adie Mike (a striker) as a weird centre-half pairing; but presumably stuck there as the two experienced players amongst the kids.

I think one of Donny's youngsters got one back, then we put a spurt on to restore the three goal margin by playing properly again for a couple of minutes.

Fair play to Donny, though - they went down, had a few tough years but have now regrouped and become a very respectable team again...

Most of it has been smoked judging by the comments about the billionaires queuing up to throw their fortune into the Gigg black hole, the Houdini-like escape from oblivion lurking just around the corner, the level of triallists willing to ply their trade with no thought of recompense and a few (hopefully tongue in cheek?) comments about another promotion.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!
Poll: Is it coming home?

Thanks for the correction TVOS. "Not quite right" is a very generous description of my post.

Anyway, back to the merits of Sky's match choices. While Bury v Notlob has little to commend it other than the minus points scenario, it's still more interesting than MK v Wimbledon....

Going to be an interesting watch this, Bolton on strike & Buckets don’t have a team...

Plenty of adverts me thinks 😀😀

Further doubt now, about the Bolton take-over. Problems regarding ownership & subsequent use of hotel and conference facilities is a hurdle they can't seem to sort out. If the deal falls through now, which it may well do, I can't imagine what will happen then.
