If he's back in the mood he was 12 years ago - but with added experience - it could be a match made in heaven for Bolton
If he's carrying any of the weight of the past few seasons, expect tantrums and some very odd team selections
Give him plenty of scope and take his comments with a pinch of salt

In his first spell and at the beginning of his second spell we played excellent football, but during his last 18 months it was dour and not enjoyable. At times he tried to over complicate things by playing round pegs in square hole and some of his team selections were questionable. He also rubbed up some supporters the wrong way.
I think it depends which Hill you are getting, the earlier or later version. He will still be the best manager we have had, but it is interesting that under BBM were have started to see players who had stagnated under Hill blossom. |  | | |

The best manager (and assistant) that we’ve ever had. We played some fantastic football under Hilly and he took us further up the league(s) than we thought possible.
Things went wrong toward the end of his time with us, Hilly just didn’t seem the same character and the team suffered.
You’ll see many fans say it will depend which Keith you get. He’s had time out of the game, will be refreshed, and has always been a proud Bolton lad. I think he’s perfect for Bolton right now. |  | | |

Turned sour towards the end with us. Because he was our most successful manager and we was punching above our weight I think he felt he was above any critiscm from supporters. He should be coming back refreshed and deserves the opportunity at a higher profile club. | | | |

We played the best football in the lower leagues for a decade under Hill, before he changed his philosophy and became far more caged - the football was dour, slow, and not entertaining. We went from having two promotions and numerous League One play-off challenges to fighting to avoid relegation over the course of one summer.
Some things remained the same throughout though - he never could take even the slightest bit of criticism and he usually always managed to say the wrong thing in interviews.
