Proper funding of humane primary health & social care is critical to the NHS too, and is probably a more difficult nut to crack since it's channelled mainly through local authorities; borough councils and primary care groups

It's the inability to provide for safe discharge that's a huge drain on NHS resources, and insanely counterproductive. I know you'll know that too, and also that it's a very long-standing problem

Apparently there are 500,000 obese people working in the NHS, so in every sense the NHS is eating its own lunch. Maybe people would be prepared to do more to be healthy if the people giving out the advice had taken their own advice in the first place? More money is not a solution to poor health its a placebo designed to make people feel better about a health service which is so brilliant no other country in the world has bothered to copy it. But of course everyone is out of step except our johnny.

Yes left of centre European nations are so desperately poor

Before anybody else says it, Its got nothing to do with me but Riddler do you really think that Corbyn is just left of centre.

This is not the time for bickering.

Boris has bitten off more than he can chew and it's looking like the Tory's have dropped a major bollock appointing him. He's looking more and more out of his depth as the days go by. This isn't going to end well for the Tory's.

The Tory's have been very successful in moving what appears to be the centre ground in British politics over to the right. They've also been very successful, with the help of their pals in the media, of painting anyone who supports policies that are vaguely socialistic as dangerous radicals.

With the best will in the world reggie, suggesting someone is racist because they abhor anti-semitism is an argument without any merit whatsoever

Forget whatever problems the Tories have - and they are many. If the leader of the party you support is broadly sympathetic to the discriminatory mindset that personified the Nazis, the party has an insurmountable problem

I stick with what I said. I abhor ALL racism. To be selective and only abhor anti-Semitism is racist in my opinion.

Well, so far it's looking good: A coalition between Labour and Liberal Democrat - delaying Brexit in the short term (extension of Article 50) leading to a 2nd confirmatory referendum in the new year and consequently remaining in the EU.

One can only hope that the damage to our reputation can be somewhat recovered in the coming years with our European friends.

If, as it appears, you're replying to me, it's you that's being wrongly selective, not me

I was simply replying to your post about Corbyn

Hence why i also objected to BDMC's equally offensive response

Edit: an apology will, however, be accepted

Further edit: for someone who claims to abhor all racism, you seem to have a peculiar blindspot with regard to Corbyn. How do you explain that?

So you do not believe in democracy.

It may come as a bit of a shock to you but democracy didn’t begin and end on 23 June 2016. Other acts of democracy have taken place since then, in particular the 2017 General Election, which has meant the Withdrawal Agreement or no deal (thankfully) has been unable to be democratically passed in the democratically elected Parliament of this country.

My 'flounce' seems to have triggered your knee-jerk - again

Repetition doesn't make it any more acceptable

I posted a very straightforward response to a post about Corbyn, and you knee-jerked all over it, in the mistaken assumption that i have more sympathy with racism on display by a Tory

If it were a general response about Johnson, you wouldn't have replied to my post but just added another

And no apology? Come on, you can do it if you try

So I wasn’t being offensive then. Good, I’m glad you retracted that amongst all that nonsense.

You seem to have a problem with the English language. Your post was offensive, but still no apology?

But perhaps your problem also explains why you fail to understand that invoking Article 50 by a huge majority in parliament requires the UK to leave the EU irrespective of a deal being secured

You saying it was offensive doesn’t automatically make it offensive does it DAlien?
Article 50 has been extended in an attempt to get a deal. If we are to remain it will have to be revoked.
No misunderstanding here sunshine.

Ah, i'll accept your apology, as i said i would

The fact erm... remains, that a huge majority of parliamentarians invoked Article 50 in early 2017 with the explicit intention of leaving the EU. The only reason it's been extended is due to the proposed deal being so poorly negotiated that it's proved unacceptable to parliament, in the hope of securing a better one. I fully support that. But it doesn't change the substance of the original legislation, which is that we leave the EU with or without a deal

Parliament has thus far proved itself incapable of honouring it's own legislation. That might be settled by a general election (or may not) but there's only one way to find out

Edit: talking of sunshine in a less offensive way, this is at least keeping me objectionably amused until the cricket starts

Carry on
