From my spot in the Main Stand the atmosphere has seemed to be at an all-time low so far this season. I sit closer to the Sandy than the TDS but I tend to hear more from the TDS than the Sandy.
Maybe one game with all the fans who like to sing in the same part of the ground might generate a bit more of an atmosphere? |  |

Once again the customer gets disrupted for the sake of what? Financial expedience?, 3 less stewards and a couple of gate keepers? Saving a couple of hundred quid? And how many people will say "stuff it, I'm not sitting in those little seats getting sore knees and a bad back"? 20? 30? 40? 100? Does anyone know? Has anyone worked out which parts of the ground lose fans on Tuesday nights is it just the Sandy? And since this is FA Cup and not a season ticket match, do the usual Tuesday night stayaway patterns still apply?
Shutting parts of the ground is a slippery slope, acceptable maybe for tinpot trophy games, but FA Cup? Really?

I think the match will have the feel of an FL Trophy game. Can't see that many people taking up a replay on a Tuesday night against a non-league side to be honest.
Only the club know the numbers on how much we'd lose if we opened the Sandy and only a few people go in there compared to a league match. On the other side we should be put in the category of 'more than likely' to go through against a non-league side (even with our awful home record) and that would give us £36,000 to absorb some of the loss, which surely can't be that much.
All hypothetical of course, but so is the club's view that not enough people will turn up to warrant opening the stand. | | | |

Last time the Sandy was shut for an FA Cup game was against Maidstone in a replay on a Tuesday night in November 2016.
Maidstone were also in the conference relegation zone, just like Wrexham.
The attendance that night was 1350 - the main stand holds about 1800 if I'm correct.
Completely justified decision closing the Sandy, we will struggle to break 2000 attendance (probably won't break 1500 to be honest), and I know most people who go in the Sandy probably won't be too bothered about having to sit down for 90 minutes to watch their football team.

REALLY!? We've done this quite a few times in recent years for unattractive cup fixtures.
If moving stand for one game, for 90 mins, means you'll never come back then you weren't really much of a fan anyway. I'm a sandy ST holder but have had a ST in the main stand and occasionally go into Pearl St or Main stand for cup games. The Sandy has the worst view and worst facilities on offer in the ground. A temporary upgrade is a positive if anything.
If you really want to stand up behind a goal go into the Pearl St. Problem solved.

People prefer to stand at games for a variety of reasons, personal preference, habit, cost etc.
Given our woeful home form, threadbare squad and inadequate performance at Wrexham, allied to the Manu windfall, the compo for playing last Sunday and the potential prize money at stake, I think the club are being mean spirited once again with a fanbase that cannot afford to be depleted or annoyed any more. Why not try and encourage more people to attend rather than make it harder?

.. but yet again season ticket supporters cannot reserve their seat. If you have to buy a ticket for the main stand it isn't rocket science to keep back season ticket holders seats until say Saturday lunchtime. I know of at least one season ticket holder who will not be attending because of this. Poor customer service. |  | | |
