Big 45 mins coming up....will we buckle under pressure?

Can't see our defence holding onto too much over 90+ mins,

Perhaps Williams needs pulling off at half time. Get McShane on to tighten it up.

Perhaps Mcshane on for Ryan who's been booked, and move MJ into midfield. Depends if Mcshane still has a knock and how much of a risk bbm thinks it is.

Completely against the run of play according to Sky. They said we’ve been the better side all half.

We have played well going forward could/should of scored 2,
Again or inability to defend will cost us. Is this third season on the trot in which we're are shit at defending?

Tavares on to try and get an equaliser. Sounds like the defence let the guy through too easily for the Cov goal. 16 minutes left and I can't say I'm too hopeful.

BBM ain't a manger, hes hasn't got a scooby doo what hes doing, but then again he fits in well at the club atm.

Bet the good game comment comes out again.

"we were in full control all the game but we know Coventry are a good team and would come at us"

So we did n't bother to stick a tackle in and lost 2-1

You don't know which "goal" they're talking about though

Awful defending for their 2nd goal. Half arsed attempt at a tackle by Camps and a slide that was nowhere near the ball or the player after that.

You do hope when we take the lead in a game that we might at least get a draw. Long season and we are definitely back in the scrap. Bolton winning means that all the teams below us besides them lost, but we need to get something from the next two games at home for completely different reasons.

We've played 4 games more than Bolton and if they get a run together they could easily be passing Southend who are 4 points in front of them (but have played 3 more games) ....so far too soon to right them off.

He can go for me, hes not learning from the same mistakes we make week in week out.

Again no plan B

Calvin Andrew a goal threat
more chance of me being best man at Sweetcorns wedding than Calvin coming a goal threat.

Is that 19 losses in a row now? It feels like it.

Regarding the second goal, if we score that goal we drool over the skill and footwork on show rather than talk about poor defending. Sometimes you just have to compliment the opposition on a damn good goal rather than slate our defending (although slate away for the first goal).

I do agree with the Sky pundit though that we’re too good to be dragged into a real relegation battle, so that’s an improvement on the last two seasons, at least. Yet another loss doesn’t sound good but a narrow loss against a top-6 side when half our team (including the vast majority of our defenders) are either injured or on international duty is far from shameful.

The amount of soft goals is a concern but it sounded like we gave them a good game with players missing. Tough games coming up though and we really need to get some points on the board before xmas. The spirit of the end of last season is needed.

It was a really good game to watch and we created more in the first half than we have for weeks. Coventry were playing three at the back with two (really good) wing-backs which meant they struggled with our front three, while we had issues stopping the wing-backs. At times is was like watching a game of Fifa as passing moves would develop for both sides with the ball then given to the opposition who would then progress quickly up the pitch only to do the same.

The turning point was Pyke’s chance at 1-0 when he was put in by Henderson and instead of ensuring his first touch took him across the defender to take him out of the game he allowed him to get back to prevent a goal. He’s such a frustrating player because you can see he *could* be unstoppable at this level yet for some reason he exists on the periphery of games.

Not really known a season like this as we seem incapable of getting a win unless it’s against teams around the bottom of the league, yet those at the top are far from the quality of previous years where we’ve held our own. It requires some belief, for some reason it looks to be missing right now. Main worry? What happens if Henderson isn’t in the team, where are the goals coming from?

With every goal his value to us increases, yet it would also increase the interest of other sides. Possibly those who think that a bid in January could aid in a real bid to avoid a relegation that appeared to be a certainty yet with every win a momentum builds.

We have played 18 games up to now, it’s not so much Southend as 3 go down thanks to a much needed decision from the EFL..

As it stands we are 6 points of the last relegation, teams around us have at least one game in hand.

Forgetting Wrexham, we have Portsmouth, Rotherham & Burton before Xmas, can’t see points coming easy then, we miss Sat 30th due to no one to play...

Can see us in the bottom 5 by then....
