I first watched Hornets when he arrived. Up till then, i'd only watched the Eddie Wareing matches that featured regularly in Grandstand

I didn't understand what "class" looked like in a rugby player, but he was a revelation. The timing of his passes to send players through gaps was unbelievable - you could hear gasps from the old 'uns in the crowd who'd been watching shite for donkeys

A truly great player, and coach, RIP
