The RochdaleAFC.com Podcast: Episode 2 20:54 - Apr 1 with 2225 viewsAtThePeake

After a decent response last week, me and Chaff have chatted about our favourite away days of years gone by for episode two:

If there's a similar uptake this week then we'll look to get it added to a few podcast apps such as iTunes etc going forward. Local band Lyerr have kindly agreed to allow us to use one of their tunes as intro music for future episodes and a few people that are or have previously been involved at the club have offered to feature on future episodes too.

Lyerr's Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/15RXcuqShkrQqtCRjKtgss?si=ZY61TZVhT4yvcBHPLTTLPQ

Again, any feedback is welcome - as are suggestions for future episode ideas during the football lockdown. Cheers.

Tangled up in blue.

Good listen that chaps.

One point, made before and to be made again until the end of time itself: Liverpool away was bloody awful. Can still see Graham Shaw’s ridiculous grin.

Was Newcastle away any different? The way we approached that game and especially the first half was embarrassing, we didn’t lay a glove on them, no passion or desire and allowed the opposition to treat it like a glorified training session.

Thanks lads, another good listen.

The away day concept is different for me living in Southend, but to me Crystal Palace away in the cup holds the fondest memeories.
My dad’s cousin met me at Moorgate tube and we met up with his mates who used to drink in the New Inn in Castleton. I was 18 and no real drinker. They were mid thirties and on one. One handed me a can on the train which exploded all over him when I opened it. We visited 3 pubs on the way to the ground. Going in the last only 30 minutes before kick off.
Cole and co at the back were great that day while KW was outstanding in goal. Palace where just starting to feel the pressure when Barber scored.
Still struggle to believe Ward missed that chance late on.
I had just started wearing contact lenses that week and in my drunken stupor slept in them that night. Not nice the next morning especially with a hang over.
Now that was a cracking away day.

A decent listen, if only to remind me how naive you were on the opening day!

At Tranmere you thought we were going to win the league, whereas I thought we had a decent chance of staying up!

Very enjoyable again - some real highlights revisited!
Ideas for the future - away grounds you love to hate (as a contrast to Wembley, St James’s Park and Old Trafford), favourite players over the years, goals that live in the memory.
Looking forward to Episode 3 - whatever it contains...........

Likewise. Pick your best and worst Dale sides!

Great listen again.

Following on from R17ALE's idea, I was going to suggest something like worst ever Dale players or cult hero types. Not the good ones but the hopeless ones who live long in the memory. Lord Kangana N'diwa and the like!
