With Ian Henderson having departed, who should be the next club captain? I am going to say O'Connell with Rathbone as his vice captain.

There's a fair chance Jim McNulty will be made club captain, but of the players most likely to be starting through choice, Paul McShane seems to have the credentials and vocals

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

I think McNulty and McShane are always going to be leaders regardless I should also imagine they may share match time throughout a season. I'd rather give the armband to a member of the squad that will play most games.

Matty Lund maybe? Or Jimmy Ryan?

Would personally love O’Connell to get given the armband. Can learn from McShane and will hopefully be with us for a similar period of time to Hendo.

O'Connell on the basis that he will likely be available for more games than McShane. McShane should take the armband in the event of O'Connell's absence.

In the past we've had two separate players nominated as team captain and club captain. McNulty would be perfect for the latter role, for the same reasons as above.

Would imagine that McNulty gets club captain job but Eoghan O'Connell to get the armband on the pitch when Jim doesn't play.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

Not a great deal of choice really is there...
