Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

Calvin was an important part of the squad initially. He won us games and contributed regularly both starting and from the bench. His form then dipped and it never really picked up (after 16/17).

He was a far better player than Donnelly.

Without Calvin, we'd not have secured the tie against Spurs and the trip to Wembley, since he scored the winner against Doncaster in an earlier round. That alone was worth his wages for the entire time he was here - and i don't mean equivalent to what those Spurs games earned us, but the glory of the first tie

We all know how his goalscoring record should've been much better - some people have made a virtual career for themselves on this messageboard on the basis of it - but he was integral to the side that achieved it's run of best ever finishes in the football pyramid in addition to the cup exploits

As our game currently consists mostly of farting around at the back before panicking and launching it long anyway, the ball would probably have far greater chance of not coming straight back at us with Calvin up top. Hopefully this will change with Humphrys though.

What about Mick and Ollie Rathbone?

Only 6 career goals for Mick Rathbone.

2 at Ewood Park
2 at Deepdale
1 at Ashton Gate
1 at Field Mill

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

Now that's a cracking question.

And in the same competition.

I'll start with Alan Jones (for Dale) & Gary Jones (not that one, for Notts County).

Calvin also headed the ball to JT for the legendary Oldham goal
