The cost to the club of Bottomley staying 17:52 - Apr 10 with 9185 viewsdawlishdale

I urge everyone to post on here if they will not be getting a season ticket for next year if Bottomley is still at the club. Please keep a running total based purely on the cost of season tickets at this years prices.

It's time he was shown how much his awful tenure is costing in the genuine hope that he does the decent thing and resigns.

There's 3 of us All Adults in the Main Stand. We won't be buying unless Bottomley goes.

Including the youngsters there are ten of us in the TDS ..6 adults and 4 under 16 years. Nobody is buying a season ticket or shirt until Bottomley leaves the club.

How much are the Crown Oil, Smiths Metals and Zen Internet sponsorships worth? Rightly or wrongly I would have thought someone will claim to be instrumental in those sponsorship deals being extended or signed during the lockdown period.

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

I can't bring myself to refuse to buy a season ticket if I have to, but I can't stand by and see the club die either. Many years ago , my old pal Sam Shrouder sent his holiday money to the save Southport fund. In the event, the club went out of the league and Sam went on to great things in the entertainment world before eventually going back to Southport as Chairman. I am starting to feel like he did at that dark time. But, Bottomley or not, we cannot allow them the excuse of not selling enough STs.

The survival of the club is the first order of business and if that means putting up with Bottomley and the rest until they can be replaced, so be it. I will support the efforts of Mr Dunphy in any way I can, I am not a shareholder but would willingly swap my ST money for shares to support him if it would help.

The Trust needs to decide which side it is on in all this too, as again, I would donate to a fund for the trust to use to buy shares if it were required to support the ousting of the current board. but until there is clarity from the Dunphy camp and from the current board, I think we should all keep our money safe and our powder dry until we know which way the wind is blowing.

These are difficult days to be a Dale supporter, not days for rash decisions but instead, days to create the alliances needed, the lines of communication and to figure out what it will take to keep the club alive and fit for the coming fights. We need clear, unequivocal statements of intent. by all the parties... Dunphy, Board, Americans and Trust and we the fans must choose carefully which horse to back.

A better shout right now I think, is to find those people on here who have shares and try to create another large shareholding group similar to the Trust. Divided we fall, United we have strength.

There is a board meeting a week on Monday, which will surely decide on whether or not to invite Chris Dunphy back on board for him to implement his board restructure.

I think this potential season ticket strike should be at the forefront of the agenda also.

Thank you
That's including A Kelly lettings but not the Zen deal.

I think caution must be taken, considering the claimed ousting of previous board members orchestrated by a current one. Somebody is clearly a very persuasive character within the club

Its tricky Judd, I agree there needs to be pressure brought to bear on the current board to quit, but if they dig their heels in its going to get messy beyond belief and a lack of funds would simply bring about an earlier demise. I can't advocate cutting our noses off to spite our faces. This will be resolved by the shareholders, that's where the rest of us need to exert pressure at this stage. and if we can bring a few thousand shares together from people who wouldn't usually be bothered to vote.... we can at least then let them know that the fault is entirely theirs, the people who were supposed to use their best efforts on the part of the Football Club. It will take an EGM and we need one asap. Even Dunphy was saying that. If there is a n EGM request in front of the Board at their next meeting , all well and good if not.....when?

Yes, the Zen deal isnt included, but given the big ticket items of stadium name, front of shirt and back of shirt sponsorships are covered by those mentioned, I think it fair to Zen brings in no more than 25% of the other sponsors.

As for persuasive, care to elucidate?

Dunphy = Rochdale's best/most successful chairman.
Was apparently ousted by members of the current board.
I'm saying considering how highly Dunphy was and still is thought of that ousting has got to have taken a fair amount of persuading.
That person(s) that could carry that out might try to use those powers of persuasion to encourage a belief amongst those with clout that inspite of what is happening they are the best people to steer the club through the iceberg field

Ah, right. I thought you meant persuasive in terms of bringing in lots of new sponsorship deals, selling more season tickets, improving the lottery uptake etc.

Read Chris Dunphys answers to the Trust questions for an explanation if why he retired from the board.

I stopped going before the covid took over even with a season ticket.
Not one more penny will be spent by me.
Had enough...
