For the record he isn't a suitable CEO for the club in League 1 either.

There have probably been some good things happened in the last 12 months.
New pitch. New ticketing system. Revamped club shop.
Er, that’s it.

I was told by a Director that the pitch had to be done if the club was not to fall foul of the football league.

The pitch we installed was not the original one we wanted, we had to go for a higher specification, higher cost dual sporting use pitch.

The new ticketing system has yet to be used.

The revamped club shop has not had chance to generate a return on the cost of the change.

Poll: What is it to be then?

Not sure I can answer the question fully. Think it's pretty clear he's had a very difficult job this year with the pandemic and I'm sure that's been very stressful and a difficult environment to work within, I also think this has been managed at a time where the board have probably been more hands off than previously. In public all the staff seem to be behind him and that message seems quite strong.

As others have mentioned money has been spent on new pitches, ticketing systems, new job roles within the club and all of these could be seen as either great investments or poor overspending in a year where we should have concentrated on the team and footballing matters.

I think there are other good examples of the club doing some good work this season with the Halloween tour events, the fact that refunds were offered to all season ticket holders as well. It feels like the club shop has done well this year as well how much that's down to the club and how much to the supporters of trying to help out is anyone's guess.

However the lottery change from agents to direct debit, the decision to be one of the last clubs to bring players back from furlough, the lack of fulfilling the members card monthly rewards, the lack of communication on many topics but significantly the contract extension for BBM it all feels pretty poor and self inflicted negativity that is only reinforced by the league table position.

In summary I can see some good things from the club this season but there's also been some poor decisions. From the outside looking in ultimately DB is the person responsible for the running of the club. However my main issue is with the board who showed quite well during the forum that they are not fit for purpose in their current setup. A reworking at board level is what I would like to see whether that includes Chris Dunphy or not is another matter but CD would bring more confidence with him due to being a known entity. The new board should then be best placed to decide on how well Bottomley has done and whether he should remain in place or not.

Poll: What are we more excited for?

I think many clubs, especially those like us, who avoided relegation when the league was cut short, have seen this season as a free hit. Unfortunately we have not learned from last season and more to the point BBM hasn't. The same mistakes being made week on week have been made for approaching 2 years now. This hasn't happened overnight. I feel that the day we lost our chief executive/secretary Colin Garlick was the beginning of all our problems. The ousting of CD under "suspicious" circumstances wasn't seen as anything but a changing of the guard. But when you look at everything that has happened since, it is clear the people now in charge are not fit or proper. A two-time failed toy salesman as CEO, two yanks who nobody knows from Adam and a manager who is out of his depth but staunchly supported by them. A lack of communication when we are sponsored by one of the country's up and coming internet service providers. Failure to be transparent in all areas, after all Dale fans are rare as hens teeth, thick as short planks and will continue dipping their hands in their pockets whatever they are "fed".
I'm not fooled by crocodile tears, I'm moved by the passion of the fans I stand alongside in the Sandy. People who shed real tears when JT completed his remarkable comeback then wrote a fairytale ending. Real people who call a spade a spade and don't need a computer program to know when they see talent. We don't need a paid CEO or a sporting director, we need good honest up front people who won't shirk their responsibilities of be afraid to tell the truth.

17th August 2021 update:

This thread was started on 10th April 2021 which was shortly before Rochdale was relegated to League 2.

It's currently 93-9.

The 9 has been creeping up. Are there forces at work who would likely attempt to sway a vote?

I've a good feeling that 4 months after this poll was started the 93 might top 3 figures before the end of August.

The recent up votes for the disgraced ex-CEO are clearly being manipulated by an individual or individuals who have fallen for the desperate ego / cult of Dreiak Raħal Braster or ex-bury fans. It's sad, an historical irrelevance now and absolutely hopeless. Sums up the character of the individual(s) concerned.
