Think it comes down a little bit to how much he's signed for.
He looked much better up top and that's where I think we all want to see him but needs must he can play in other positions which is valuable with smaller squads.

I expect the contract is on much reduced terms. He can do a job as a channel runner but not at left back even in this division.
I can’t make my mind up about it either. I think it’s a ok bit of business but will I be able to stand another season of his detractors giving him stick regardless of how he performs, I doubt i can take another season of that. At least it’s only a year so those who think he only shows up when his contract is going to be up for negotiation can take solace from knowing he won’t be trying for only 2/3rds of the season.

Unlike O'Connell and Lund I suspect that he didn't have too many other suitors.
Glad to see him back though.
He showed enough in glimpses to my mind in the second half of the season to show that he can still do a job upfront.

Im sure somebody said on anothe topic that O'Connell was heading to Bolton and Lund could sign a new Dale contract due to his recent injury record.....
The club should also be looking at trying to get Humphrys and Rathbone tied to a longer deal.... | |

I mentioned on another thread that Will Aimson had signed for Bolton which might mean that they are no longer interested in O’Connell.
The very fact that he has a new manager in Ian Harte suggests to me though that he will be in the marketplace.
Shame, but there are plenty of decent, clubless players knocking about.

This has been his problem the last few seasons though, he seems to come good towards the end when contracts are being negotiated. He's missing for 75% of the season. | | | |
