I’m only speculating, of course, but it takes a vast amount of courage to come forward if you’re the victim of something like this. The fear of not being believed; the stigma from families or the alleged abuser’s side; the reasons could be many fold. Sometimes it just takes one person to come forward and it gives others the courage to do the same. As for all coming out at same time , its as mentioned above, courage to stand up and the investigation may of found other victims so they all seem to talking up at the same time. | | | |

Even the one offence to which he has admitted, will see him imprisoned for a substantial term so if the other charges are also proved, then he could be looking at a sentence beyond at least 15 years with an outside possibility of a life sentence, though as a first offender that's less likely.
In any event, he will have plenty of time on his hands, to think about the error of his ways. |  |
