I’ve just spotted that he’s signed for Southampton today at the age of 32 to play/coach in their Academy team.
This seems to be a new trend following Paul McShane going to United. I notice that he played for their under 21s at Bradford City this week.
Is this all subtle preparation for getting Premiership B teams into the EFL?

Gary Dicker has also done the same at Brighton.

He's been back at Southampton since June/July.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Only saw it the paper this morning.
I blame the Pony Express delivering news into darkest Yorkshire!

Think it's more of an alternative way of improving the experience of their younger players don't see it as preparation for B teams. We did it with BBM and now McNulty so nothing new. Just seems to be something the bigger clubs are now doing. They have so many young players that they can't loan them all out.

I do think there should be a cap on youth players in clubs academy's going forward. Even when I was younger if I'd have signed for Man U I would have been one of 20 keepers in my age group instead of 1 of 3 at Rochdale. Can't be good!

Poll: What are we more excited for?

Not sure how he's juggling things as his kids go to school near me, or they did do till summer at least as I regularly saw them all together.
