Hornets on Sunday 19:31 - Feb 24 with 260923 viewsEllDale

They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment.
The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day.
Wonder what that’s all about?

Hornets on Sunday on 12:36 - Jul 22 by HullDale

'The Hornet' (for irony purposes note the username, not his real name) has thrown a proper wobbly this lunchtime.

"What a cesspit that forum is...

A gathering of Internet trolls, keyboard warriors, and truly deluded fantasists hiding behind usernames and peddling rubbish in desperate hope if they type something enough times it might actually be true or people might even believe it 🤣

Had a quick skim over the recent bile this morning......pretty amusing really as they are the main protagonists are clearly rattled. That Kel who got booted from here for trolling is still at it and seems obsessed with our Chairman. The copy and paste kid RAFC Blue (sounds like a dodgy 70's porno) cutting and pasting historic links but clearly knows nothing about RL or Hornets and his making things up. Makes you wonder how some of these find the time to have a real life 🤣

Noticeable how they all seem to skirt over the shameful facts about the way their club is treating Hornets and the damage being caused and just simply revert to type and divert to character assassinating anyone who stands up for our club most notably our Chairman.

Real low life people not willing to disclose who they are on forums where they can be put straight, but are big an brave behind a keyboard."

The irony of a bloke who doesn’t use his own name saying that. He knows my full name (he’s posted it on there in the past) so why won’t he use his? Time to step up ‘fella’ and grow a pair.

Sounds like he'd agree to a meeting...

Not a chance of a meeting, he couldn't spare the time to pull himself away from his latest sausage and chicken shoveling challenge....You can just hear the slurping as his fat red face fills up with the meaty stuff....

I’m told one of the ip addresses in use by Andy Hornet pinpoints an address in Leigh. Now I wonder who has a company based there.

He should brush up on internet security really. Tut tut…

THE hornet not just any hornet - residents must have only just got the internet in Leigh since a lifelong hornet's fan (where've we heard that before?) only started posting on their forum last December? Talks a lot for someone who has proven he knows so little. Empty vessels still making the most noise.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

I see the big announcement today is the starting up of a community team or 'third' team. This will just dilute any work the current amateur RL teams are doing in the town in times when the sport is becoming less popular meaning less players to go around. I know some at Mayfield are very unhappy about this after trying to forge a good relationship between the two clubs over the last decade or so. As an ex Mayfield player hornets can get stuffed now as far as I'm concerned .

It seems the new chairman of hornets is on a mission to drive a wedge between the town's sporting clubs. Maybe that's his plan altogether to move hornets elsewhere!??

I’m very much looking to his invite for this “keyboard warrior” to meet him. He’s been asking a Hornets fan who I know all about me so it’s fairly easy for him to arrange something.

Unless he’s a keyboard warrior hiding behind a username that is.

Yes exactly. All this does raise suspicions of what the end game is of the hornets board. Manchester Hornets ??

Whilst i'm not in possession of all the facts, i know two things:

1) I want the best for Dale AND for Hornets, and i've posted as much on here

2) What Hornet is posting is very wrong-headed

On that basis, i'd be happy to meet him and tell him to his face exactly why his posts are counter-productive and NOT IN THE BEST INTERESTS of the rugby club

So that’s two invites he’s now had to meet up. Let’s see if he’s a man of his word (snigger) and does it. Over to you ‘The Hornet’

I believe the new club setting up at Balderstone and being supplied with kit by Hornets will be called East Ward Rangers.

Interesting choice of name.
For a start it's geographically incorrect as Balderstone is definitely south of the town centre.
There used to be a team in the local league called East Ward in the 1980's but they were based at the old Con club of the same name in Newbold.
They later moved and renamed themselves Newhey.
Most of their old committee and players are no longer around so I can't see any connection.

From what I'm hearing, Hornets are providing kit for a new amateur club playing in Rochdale for this and next season.
Players have been poached from Mayfield.
RMBC, I am led to believe, have funded a club house and changing rooms and will lay a new pitch for next season at Balderstone.
Not sure if this development could lead to a new, smaller stadium

Taken 7 weeks for that to be admitted, but Hornets confirm they are starting up a new amateur team.

Good to see them respecting the traditions of Rochdale Mayfield in the town.

I'd be up for a meeting also, unfortunately D_Alien I'm not as diplomatic as yourself...It wouldn't end well, there's some major alarm bells ringing after his latest rant and his veiled support of the maniacs who tried to kill our club and of his dig at RAFC Blue, this Hornet clown could well be up to no good in this regard....I'll just leave that there...

We all knew this Community Team was brewing but I find it slightly strange that the announcement came 24 hours before the opening game.
A hint of subterfuge here.

Back to the Hornet, who has an avatar featuring the name Ratu on the back of a rugby shirt.

Sure I've seen the Hornets chairman mention on Twitter his son having one.

Seems to be that he’s had a plan in place for a while to move Hornets and is looking for somebody to blame to make it out like the football club have caused it when that’s been his plan all along. More fool the Hornets fans who defend him.

And I’m wondering if it’s just a coincidence that ‘the hornets’ avatar is related to the subject he constantly mentions on Twitter. Personally, I don’t believe in coincidences and just think the bloke is a bit thick.

Never a mention anywhere of the coach.
And does anyone know any of his co-directors? Extremely anonymous chaps.

Its an interesting one for 'The Hornet' now.

If (as I strongly suspect) Hornet is indeed Andy M, some of his posts and accusations on the Hornet's board will get him in bother with the rugby fans (of whom I'd suggest the more passionate / knowledgable / militant ones post on there)... we know many are staying away in their droves as it is, but accusations and comments about both clubs made by The Hornet wouldn't go down well at all if they were found to be by Andy. The fans would feel lied to and potentially like they've been made mugs of.

A Swinton supporting mate suggested to me that Andy might be particularly litigious - if the accusations of him being Hornet were incorrect I think he'd have asked for them to be removed.

He was also in part complimentary about Andy when it came to raising money for the club from local sponsors / businesses, but mentioned it was sometimes at the expense of others and always came across as 'brand andy' rather than 'brand swinton'.

It feels like Hornet / Glory are digging a big hole for themselves (himself?) and is too deep in now to change tact.

Unfortunately D.A in those moments when a clear head should prevail the PTSD kicks in, fight or flight is a choice but I don't do flight so all hell breaks out...It's strange because for many years I followed Hornets as well as dale and travelled all over the place supporting them...It's well documented even on here in one guise or another that the old guard and I did not see eye to eye after past naughtiness by the then board...I don't think anyone then connected to Hornets is still there now, even the lads n lasses I used to go with fell out of love with Hornets never to return, we were named Bandit supporters at the time for our opposition and for spilling the beans about their antics.....I hadn't seen or heard anything from anyone connected to Hornets for years until last weekend when I called into the San Remo cafe for a brew whilst waiting for Rocks Off vinyl store to open and sat there was the Son of a former director and one of the old guard...Never has a brew been finished so quickly and a seat vacated...Quite funny really...It seems like after a few years of settled RL at Spotland (Don't do COA) the dodgy times are back....Shame really.....

Poll: Hill in or out? 2nd referendum.....

I’m led to believe he did the very same when at Swinton but usually only when he’d started on the beer of an evening. Now it appears he’s at it full time and has gone full on loopy on forums. I’m convinced the bloke isn’t playing with a full deck and has a serious complex.

Seek help, Andy.

Aren't you the headcase?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
