One of the more enjoyable away days in the calendar. First time for me was Boxing Day in ‘91 and an Andy Flounders diving header in the last minute to bag the 3 points

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Did Flounders jump on the fence at our end as part of his celebration or is this my fond memory playing tricks..?

Last time I went was around September 2003.
A left back called Michael Simpkins (oft maligned on here) laid on two goals with good deliveries from the left hand side (Kevin Townson and Leo Bertos?) in the first half in a smashing win.
Loved going to Bootham Crescent for the day out on the train despite a really crap away end.
Made Accrington and Macclesfield seem palatial.

Great day, that Flounders header is much better than I remember too. He was a proper Division 4 goal scorer. That was one of our best ever away kits too.

Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

Was it any more 'crappy' than the away end at Spotland at the time?

Fair point but by 2003 Dale were housing the away fans in the newly built Willbutts Lane stand I think.
Visiting fans accommodation at York stayed the same right until the grounds demolition a couple of years ago.
Fond memories of the place nevertheless and I’d love to see them back in the EFL.

Yes, although I was thinking more of at the time of the 1991/92 season, rather than the game you specifically mentioned.

I remember a last minute winner from Eugine Martinez from about 20 yards into the top corner. Also a penalty save ( Crawford) in another game. Great days out with some decent pubs too

The FA cup replay was a memorable one, a brace from Steve Johnson and most of us missed the first goal, that was a very unexpected away win. I seem to remember leaving a game at York, losing 0-2 with a few minutes remaining, pretty sure we scored two goals in injury time to draw the game...not the first time i’ve missed a late goal.
