I admit to now knowing much about the ins and outs of football finances, but £6.4 million in wages in non-league last year seems very high even if it is down on the £7.7 million in 2024. Vince must really love throwing money at that.

WOW, over £6m on player wages. Carlisle were allegedly spending £5m on their playing budget too. As shareholders at Dale, we get very detailed breakdown of costs and revenues. Our playing budget for last year, including coaching staff and bonuses was c£1.5m. I doubt we are spending more than £2m this season.
As for revenue, it shows how much Vince is pumping in from his other businesses. Matchday income is probably in line with ours, but he is pumping more than £4m per year in commercial rights/fees. Staggering really and definitely not sustainable if he walks away. He has just borrowed £17m to pay off his divorce settlement. Of course he is wealthy on paper through his utility business. |  | | |

I think at this point the only incentive can be to promote his 'green' agenda - the £18.4m losses in total are seen as the cost of making him famous and promoting his particular brand of politics. Otherwise, I really can't see the point. | | | |

I quite like Savages positive spin on everything best team in the league now they will be every other play off contenders nightmare draw.
They are a good side.. with some big national league names in the squad.
