To be fair Alerachia’s form of late hasn’t been great

Chances are, he's had a "hangover" from the African Nations tournament where he was competing against some high profile players on big money, a different world altogether (or at least, continent...)

Returning to the NL in midwinter, even with a club at the top, might prove unsettling and he comes across as a player who wears his heart on his sleeve

That was a key game for the remainder of the season. There was a world where things could start to unravel after what happened at the Shay. With Coleman getting Aldershot going and his enduring strong desire to beat us the stars weren’t aligned for this one. However we returned to what we do best finding a path to victory by being efficient in their half and resolute and determined in our own.
Mani is so understated in his manner of playing the game. That has to be his 6th or 7th brace this season. A real marquee signing he was.
So on to Brackley at home.and maybe a chance to see Allerakia, who is getting very little game time at the moment.

8 league braces, the most since Joe Hargreaves got 7 (including a hat-trick in 1946/47). He also got another brace in the FA Cup.

Two more needed to equal Albert Whitehurst's league club record of 10 in 1926/27; three more needed to equal Albert's all-competition's record from the same season.

Maestro? No. Elite? No. Heavyweight poster? No. Able to be rational and not over-react to individual results? Yes.

One bit of luck for us yesterday was Sean Patton being recalled by Reading. He'd scored a lot for Aldershot in their recent good run.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Thought that before York scored last night that their players were becoming rattled
by each other.. a behaviour I’ve not seen amongst our players this season.

Thanks for that. I hope he breaks the record and propels us to the title.

Watching the match back on DAZN with no pressure.

Yesterday was a strange performance with hardly any pressure on the Aldershot keeper. Two fantastic goals from a class striker and what a through ball from Devante. Apart from that virtually no shots. Apart from the superiority upfront, we packed the defence and successfully stifled any attacks. The midfield created very little throughout.

Is this the next version of Jim`s plan? Playing Moss and Pritchard as wide men works ok against teams with little wide threat (Aldershot, Yeovil) but it puts a huge responsibility on Mani D.

It was a very similar performance to those we’ve seen away before this season - as mentioned recently we played much the same at Forest Green as well as the other night at Halifax. Even right back to the opening day at Boreham Wood we witnessed a side totally at ease setting up in a solid formation and looking to pick teams off when we regain the ball. The problem at the Shay was we didn’t do the basics well enough when 2-0 up.

It’s been extremely effective away from home though. I share the concerns about it limiting us out wide sometimes despite the excellent performances of Moss in recent weeks. Also agree that the midfield wasn’t at a similar level as we’ve come to expect, especially with ball retention, somethings else that’s been noticeable the last few games.

I wonder how difficult it must be to know your duties when you are part of a packed defence. Is that why they collapsed against sustained attack at Halifax? Especially when late subs come on?

There does not seem to be much wing threat from Pritchard and the link work between Tobi and Kyron has definitely been missed. Is it getting too congested?

With goals like that from Mani D, it doesn`t seem to matter, but the run-in now is absolutely critical.

I can see Moss being rested Tuesday, Rodney too, with Taz coming in to go at Brackley out wide and probably McBride in Rodney's place. On paper the Boston game is the toughest of the week but I still doubt we'll see too many changes.

Jim wouldn't do that... would he...

Allowing shots from the edge of the box has cost us goals recently, individuals not doing their jobs. That led to Halifax’s first. Hosannah not being alert led to the second.

We haven’t ever really changed how we play, mainly because we are that well coached and it’s getting results at a level nobody would have expected. Individual players within that structure do impact it though - eg. Moss or TAR missing. However it is worth noting Moss offers a different option out wide in the air when we go long. A bit like when we used that tactic with Vincenti.

As John Coleman mentioned in his post-match interview, it was a very bobbly pitch. Difficult for either team to keep possession and avoid misplaced passes. Dale coped with those conditions better overall, and our first goal was a class apart from anything else in the game.

It's a strange ground to visit. Our fans and theirs weren't properly segregated. We had one turnstile next to three of theirs. There was no bother, but we were sharing the same bar, snack van and even toilets inside the ground!

3 points again away away

Yes, I noticed the pitch was very bumpy and rough. We did really well to play with zip and control, which making our first goal, which included a few passing moves, that extra nice!

No of course he wouldn`t make the same mistake again, and against Brackley as well!

Resting precious players when he needs every goal and every point. Surely not.

I`ve sent him 2 books on Antarctic journeys and early Everest climbs.

i must admit I`ve come round to thinking one of the seven subs should be Miles from now on.
