Cracking game of football. Very open, but that’s the way we play and it’s a trade off that’s still collecting points.
Grimsby will be disappointed after dominating after half time but the change after Henderson came on meant they may be happy with a point after that Brown miss.
Petit’s return may give us a bit more control in midfield but for now it’ll be a bit of a basketball game at times. |  |

Probably got away with one there after scoring with perhaps our first meaningful attack of the second half, we couldn't match Grimsby's energy for much of it. Makes you wonder why Hendo hasn't featured more often this season, he's still got it. Thought Wilson bounced back well after Saturday and it's a decent point overall. We huffed and puffed but didn't quite do enough if im honest. Grimsby will probably feel the did enough to win but couldn't put us away.

Partly down to TAR (another injury?) being replaced by Taylor at LB which he isn't and it meant moving Tasker to his less effective side - should have been Beckwith @ LB from HT.
Frenetic first half although Grimsby looked strongest to me and we were dead and buried @ 1-2 until Hendo's (& Hannant's) cameos.
As others have said we lost out in midfield even with 3 which needs solving & I don't see Petit as the solution. Agree though It is the way we play so we're in for a rollercoaster season and with the table so congested safety is a long way away. [Post edited 20 Oct 22:08]

We were wide open at the back first half too but at least showed a bit going forward - there was none of that for 36 minutes of the second half until Hendo came on. Did the referee book Watson due to his own embarrassment?

Taylor let the ball bounce and then they got in behind. Beckwith is obviously on a 30 minute timer like Heyes is now up to 70. The second goal came from over playing after we had won the ball and then conceded a corner. Poor punch by Waller.
The positive are Middleton and Tasker. Hayes is also looking sharper. It is almost the last fit player standing. Pettit and East cannot come back quick enough. I thought Gilmour had a decent game but Francis has no mobility. With Taylor pulling up lame and Tobi going off at half time we are really struggling for numbers. | | | |

Rather than "forget", surely these hard-fought points need to be appreciated more, given we're in a higher division and it sounded like end-to-end stuff particularly in the closing stages?
Injuries pile upon injuries, but Hendo moved one nearer to the appearances record and extended his goalscoring total in front of 3600 on a damp Tuesday night
This is life in the former Rochdale division, and tonight would likely have been enjoyed over much of our history even if we were below par
