Against the teams that try to play on the floor I'd rather have Dicker in the team but for the majority of games in this League I think Cav is the type of physical player you need in the defensive midfield role. I think it's ridiculous the sort of players we regularly have on the bench. | |

As posted elsewhere, I beg to differ.
He's a lazy footballer who might have been a better player (he has the attributes - I presume that's what you mean by "is class") but hasn't the footballing heart to put them to proper use. Rarely makes a telling pass and dwells too long on the ball, giving opponents the chance to close him down and causing his team-mates to back pedal to bale him out.

He began steadily but IMO began to get into the pace of the match and though lacking the tiger tackling of Cav he distributed well and accurately, which was what he was sent on to do.

That'd be fine under normal circumstances, but when Dicker had a run of games earlier in the season, he got progressively slower and his passing less accurate, along with his liability to concede possession in a critical area of pitch! | |

Dicker looked absolutely superb at first and we all thought we'd never see Cav again. Dicker then had a few poor games and was left out of the side.

We've just got an incredible run of games coming up that could see us putting daylight between ourselves and most of the other promotion contenders, and possibly making history in the Cup.

Often, Dicker's problem is that he is a good footballer. Too often he'll receive the ball off team-mates in this tight positions because they trust his to control it and move it on. This happened when Lillis threw one to him in a central area when Lillis had a complete picture of what was on. Dicker looked a bit under pressure but it eventually went back to the keeper and was cleared, even Hill told Lillis about it.
Defensively he's not as good as Cavanagh, but if he decides to stick around he'll have a part to play. And next year he could feature even more, depending which division we're in. |  |

Another with memory loss. It wasn't just the one, I'm afraid. He was so poor after several games that Hilly ended up having to experiment with three centre-backs, until Cav regained fitness.
But I'll leave it there. If Cav's out we might need Dicker to pull his finger out against really good opposition. I hope he can remember what he did that got him games in the championship. I'll have my fingers crossed. | |
