With him now obtaining a salary at Bolton, will the payments he contracted to at Dale be discontinued

Poll: Where will we finish this season?

I'd be very surprised if his payments were ongoing. It is normal to pay somebody their contractual pay in a lump sum on termination - in his case just over 3 years wages. But given this is football anything could be in the contract.

Yep difficult to know. There could have been an early termination fee rather than having to pay the full amount or an amount could have been negotiated.

In any case if fees were being paid I would imagine they will now cease with him being back in a job.

Either way I'm glad to see him back in football and I hope he does well at Bolton apart from when he comes up against us of course.

I know for a fact that Chris Beach got 6 months wage which stopped this month, he was on a 5 year deal so I wonder if Hill was on a similar deal, either way I believe that if we were playing him and he takes a job (which obviously he has) then it stops

I believe Hilly negotiated a very good exit deal of 25p in the pie.

He's earned a massive crust.

Poll: What is it to be then?

"Filling" the bank balance once again. Who wouldn't?

Nobody really knows what contract Hilly was on here, or what fingers were in what PIE. Certain CRUSTaceans might think they know. The subject might be a hot potato for a week.

If thats is the fact then the club are saving a fair wedge just upon two wages alone....

Either the club will see the money saved as part of the cuts to the budget or it is hopefully invested into the club....

Two plausible reasons are the youth coaches out of work at Bury FC.
The way i see it is that if the club can improve the youth coaching staff then within a few seasons it could be beneficial to the club and its future finances......

With what as happened at Bury other clubs will be looking within themselves to improve their own setups etc so wouldnt it be prudent to widen that gap between Dales current setup and the other clubs who are looking to improve theirs to Dales standards.....
