The suggestions of foul play are frightening and the human stories are unbelievably gut wrenching.

I believe that warnings weren’t noticed within football with wooden stands. I’m sure the year before another club had it’s stand burn out from an electrical fault at night. Norwich?

I sat in that stand not long before the fire, and that could have been me.

A real tragedy, but I like to think it has left a true legacy in that grounds are a safer place today.

It was Norwich’s main stand which burnt down, taking my season ticket seat with it!
