Just got back 17:12 - Mar 28 with 9295 viewsD_Alien

I've been waiting since before half time, the entire second half and the drive back before posting this. And I'm aware there are other threads about Henderson. So this isn't, unlike Henderson, a knee jerk reaction.

I'll start by saying how proud I am of our performance today. If Wigan are good enough to be in the auto promotion spots - and they deserve to be - then we're good enough to be right up there with them. It didn't feel like a defeat, and overall I'm happy with the lads, and our support was magnificent.

But here's the thing. I don't care if it affected the eventual outcome or not. We're good at playing with ten men and we might even have snatched an equaliser. Even so:

For me, Henderson can F*CK RIGHT OFF

I hope we're shot of him in the close season, whatever his contract is.

I hope he's fined at least two week's wages, for displaying such disregard for the rest of his colleagues and the supporters this past fortnight.

Henderson - F*CK OFF and stick your Herbalite up your arse.

Yeah, let's get shot of our leading goal scorer and possibly our best player. I know he is useless from the bench, but he has been awesome this season. I am sure he regrets his actions from these last 2 matches but you can't take away what he has done.

Telling him to eff off is quite pathetic really. Give your head a wobble.

Don't know who has given this post the thumbs down. I'm also proud of our performance today and thought we were on a par with Wigan for much of the game. Huge disappointment about Henderson - it looked like a red to me as soon I saw it, whether or not it was harsh doesn't really matter, he shouldn't have taken the risk. Idiot.

I'll politely disagree with the lets fook Henderson off comments. Very good L1 player just seems to get too "built up" for the derby games. I don't recall him being sent off for petulant challenged against dross southern sides on a Tuesday. It's like he had a point to prove to be aggressive in our local games and goes too far. Wish he wouldn't. We played well today considering and had we kept 11 I have a feeling we could have nicked it. As I've said on another thread it's no disgrace losing 1-0.

Chin up.

He was lucky to avoid a red card against Millwall after kicking out at one of their players.

If anyone can sort him out, Keith 'fixer of broken toys' Hill can.

He's worked wonders with more hopeless causes than Hendo before now.

If he's gonna keep acting like a child then perhaps we should consider his Dale future but he's too indispensable to the team to think about binning him just yet.

Not at all, but incidents of the nature we have seen v Oldham and Wigan have happened too often with him in other games, not just derbies.

I've also just remembered Swindon away, when he was having a bit of a petulant ding-dong right in front of us.

He's a liability now; every team knows his weakness. If he starts, we're all wondering if he'll make the full ninety minutes.

Who is still surprised when Henderson gets sent off? I could even imagine the situation today.... on the receiving end of a tough tackle, should just get on with the game, doesn't, gets one straight back in right away, sent off.

Who are YOU with?

But that's the problem. If he's indispensable, we're f*cked as a team - and we're not, we're better than that.

This broken toy thing is ok for incoming players but not someone the rest of the team (Holty apart) are usually looking up to. it's really disruptive in the dressing room to have a player who thinks he's untouchable - if that's what he thinks, and his behaviour suggests he does.

For the sake of the squad, I still say get rid. I couldn't care less about his career or even performances for Dale from now on.

For someone who seems relatively intelligent off the pitch he seriously needs to learn some guile! He is far too good a player for us to get rid of but Hilly needs to be having serious words about what it means to wear the captain's armband.

If anything it's quite laughable. As in if it wasn't so annoying, you'd laugh AT him.

Just watched the replay. Pretty much the same as all the other 'incidents' he's been involved in. Even worse (or to his benefit) is, if he'd stayed down and play-acted a little, he could have got the other guy sent off...

Instead he shows the ref that the initial challenge didn't hurt him, and made the perpetrator into a victim.

I'm not sure he thinks he thinks he's untouchable because he really isn't; if it weren't for Holt's limitations he would have started today instead of Hendo. This was a game where we desperately needed our best team out (and preferably 11 men) and Bunney just isn't good enough.

Today is clearly his last chance though. Let's hope he learns his lesson now or he never will.

Recently against bury in the league at home he was constantly lashing out at P Clarke when coming under a bit of a heavy tackle,it's almost like he can't help himself but react.

I didn't go today so won't comment on that incident but for someone so quick to preach to others how they should lead their life and hit goals he really does act like a bell end.

He also got sent off in the cup game at Northampton last season for a similar incident.

When a player has done so much for the club, which he has, you tend to forgive missed chances and mistakes. But this is different, this comes down to attitude and a disregard for the fans and his team-mates.

Being stupid enough to consistently let not only the fans down but his own team-mates down too is seriously worrying. I think it would be a slight over-reaction to get rid of him, but Hilly really does need to take some kind of action.

For what it's worth, we won 4-1 without Henderson on Friday, so I wouldn't call him indispensable.

Tangled up in blue.

I was imagining that, at half time, Keef would have had him bent over and allowed each of our other players to kick his arse as they walked past.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

This is completely out of order. Have you seen the incident?
Not a red card in my opinion. Not a rush of blood and giving the raf no choice. The ref wouldn't have sent him off but for thev4th official. Very hash red card in my opinion. Get behind the lad

Watch Henderson's face.

Don't even care about the debate over the red card, it's the actions of the player.

Saw the incident at the match and after on the highlights. It was a terrible tackle but Henderson's reaction was completely needless and deserved punishment. We said at the time he would get a red - it doesn't make any difference if the fourth official was involved, that's what he is there for and he had the best view of all.
