No harm in trying a 4 or 3 out of 4 match bundle with some PR around supporting the battle to stay up. May work if we can beat Crawley and it becomes a closer battle against the drop

It would be nice to hear from the board this week. A chairman's rallying cry and some kind of incentive to get a few more bums on seats might be the lift the players need. Of course they have to weigh up the numbers to see what is viable but you'd like to think they are at least planning something.

Don't hold your breath. People have already suggested some ideas.

Personally I think a £10 for adults and £2 for kids deal for the next two home games as a rallying cry is needed. The argument that we can't afford it is wrong as we have almost no paid for tickets now. 90% of home attendees are season ticket holders. If we can issue a rallying cry "back us or lose us" we might get a good increase in attendance. And anybody with vision would see this as an opportunity to decide what to do on ticket pricing if we go down. We certainly can't be charging £24 for home or away fans if we go down.

And if it works for the next two games, we do the same for the last two.

I'm almost certain we can't do anything for the Walsall & Bradford games - they already have tickets on sale for their fans & I'm pretty sure the EFL dictate we have to do the same ticket offers / prices for away fans as home fans. Ticket promos, amongst other things, would require some forward thinking & a desire to do things differently - both of which appear to be sadly lacking.

That said... if we could do something...

- Adults a fiver, kids a quid
- Free calendar with every kids ticket (whilst stocks last)
- Players not in the match day squad around the ground, signing autographs and having photos taken
- Free 'first game at Dale' messages / photos on the scoreboard

The big one for me... advertise it HEAVILY. Get it on all of the digital billboards around the borough, in the observer & on rochdale online. If we can't afford to pay for it, look for a sponsor to cover the cost and give them a prominent spot on the adverts in return... 'support the dale, support the town - in conjunction with XX'

It feels like we are going down without a whimper - it would be criminal if we choose to not do something different for our last couple of home games in the EFL.

Reducing the price for individual games means the same price would need to eb charged for away fans so wouldnt make sense against Bradford and to lesser extent the Tranmere game in midweek as we'd be missing out on much needed revenue. Maybe reducing prices for the last home game v Sutton could be worth doing if were still in with a chance by then.

Be nice if the club could subsidise coaches for next weeks away game at Crawley as we simply have to win that game and the more support we can get down there the better. Tickets only £2 so be great to have a sizable support to spur on the players.

Is it not the case that the away end only has to be no higher than the Main Stand, so we could have cheaper ticket prices for the Sandy and Pearl Street?

I think you mean 'with a whimper'.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Most of the crowd has already paid for a seàson ticket. Is there really any audience for cheap tickets now? There is only one section of the crowd that is growing and needs encouraging, the gang of kids in the Sandy. Give them a buy-one-bring-a-mate-for-free at the next home game and see what happens. My guess is they will get organised and use it amongst themselves, so maybe no net extra but there might be a few more who turn up....its worth a go.

There are four obvious ways for us to advertise the next home game as a starting point.

The billboard outside the ground - still advertising 22-23 season tickets.

The fixture board on Wilbutts Lane - next home game still shows Swindon on 18th March

Twitter header - has changed to just a photo of the Sandy

Facebook header - had changed to a photo of the main stand (even when it is a fixture advert you can't see the writing)

What's the point?
