The frightening thing for the rest of the chasing pack is that this squad of players is fresh and eager as we approach the business end of the season. Everybody is pushing each other for a starting place, the manager and his coaches seem to have the rotation spot on and the team selection is geared towards dealing with different types of opponents. There's no sign of tiredness because canny use of the subs bench have allowed Jim to withdraw players early. Players don't feel tired when they're winning games anyway. A month ago you could name our strongest starting eleven, it's now becoming more difficult because there are no real weak links in the squad. Those on the subs bench such as Pritchard, Moss, Petit, Burger, Barlow, Hendo are capable of starting any game and have been vital over recent games. Those in charge of recruitment since Jims appointment as manager have done a brilliant job. We've brought some great players into the club, that wont be by accident or being lucky. We're improving as the season progresses and we now know how to win the big games both home and away and if we do end up in the play offs that will give the players loads of confidence. First job has to be nailing down a top three place and then winning the league will either happen or it wont, that would be the icing on the cake. Big test again on Wednesday against FGR, just likes Mark Hughes, Savage has already revealed how he will approach the game this time. They will play with a high press and try to disrupt us from the start, similar to Hartlepool. Savage has been harping on about how he got his tactics wrong since we last played them, so we know what to expect from a team who will have had two long away trips in less than a week.
