| Dale Sign Francis on 14:48 - Feb 10 with 4174 views | samueloneils | In midfield, we now have the following East Age 27 Current contract 6/27 Pettit 22 Contract 6/27 Francis 26 Contract 6/28 Gilmour 27 6/26 McBride 24 6/26 Barlow 26 6/26 Burger 21 6/26 Gomez-M 24 6/26 Pritchard 29 6/26 We also have out on loan Edwards 18 6/26 Humbles 22 6/27 With 9 midfielders on the payroll plus the 2 loanees I am assuming Jim is thinking far ahead. Jan/Feb seems to be the time of the season when new contracts are being discussed. | | | |
| Dale Sign Francis on 15:57 - Feb 10 with 3986 views | Trev | This is an excellent signing, on paper, and clearly a player we have monitored for some time. Sometimes when the deal is there to be done you just have to take it though clearly we are well stocked in midfield. | | | |

Gilmour 27 6/26 McBride 24 6/26 Barlow 26 6/26 The above 3 i would hope we extend... especially Gilmour and Barlow. Pritchard 29 6/26 in a heartbeat another year if we can keep him playing and fit... i know there is no guarantee with any player.. Of the other 2 Burger is worth a discussion only Gomez can go as his fitness looks fragile.

I suppose it depends on what league we are in. Gilmour is a no brainer but I suspect he will have lots of suiters. I think we need to upgrade the number 10 position so keep Burger and sign a starter using the salaries for McBride, Barlow and Mancini.
| Dale Sign Francis on 06:47 - Mar 6 with 1863 views | Dale_4_Life | Well this is Francis early chance to impress. Gilmour out for 4 weeks so slotting in there are big shoes to fill. Thought he was a little off the pace v Brackley Tuesday night.. obviously needs time to adapt to the Dale way of playing. This really is a big 3 weeks for this side.. onwards and hopefully upwards by the end of April. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think Petit has earned his place in the starting line-up. He was great when he came on at Brackley, bringing a lot of energy into the game along with the other subs. If defensive midfielder Francis plays, I would like to see him be a bit more adventurous with his passing, instead of playing the short, sideways ball for most of the game. He's surely got a good pedigree with a Man City background to pick out some runners. Hopefully, he will once he gets settled into his role.

Yep..... he would n't become a 'Gilmour" overnight. Steady away.
