Billy Sharp joined the Iron from Sheffield United in the summer of 2005 for a fee of £100000. Sharp proved himself whilst on loan at Rushden where he scored 9 times in only 16 matches. Billy has scored a variety of goals and works incredibly hard, proving there is much more to his game than just being a poacher.

Last season Sharp formed a fantastic partnership with Andy Keogh and they caused many defences problems. Sharp finished the campaign with 23 league goals and was selected in the League One Team of the Season.
