![]() Wednesday, 6th Aug 2008 13:20 Roberto Martinez says that he will not risk Jason Scotland at Charlton unless he is 100% fit Scotland started last night's 1-0 win over Den Haag at the Liberty and looked short of match fitness as he recovered from the injury that he says blighted the end of his first season at the club. But after a summer operation, Scotland is now back in action and pushing hard for a start at Charlton although his manager says that he will not risk the striker unless he is 100% fit. Speaking to today's Evening Post, Martinez said ''We need players to be 100 per cent and we won't take any risks. ''We are delighted with Jason's progress. Nobody expected him to play an hour against Den Haag and we are happy that he came through it well. ''But it's early days to say whether he will start at Charlton. He has got a chance to be involved but you could see against Den Haag that he wasn't ready for 90 minutes. ''We will assess him over the next two or three days to see exactly how he is and then a make decision for the weekend.''
