Lloyd of the Manor

Dale have added to their squad with the signing of attacking midfielder Danny Lloyd on an initial one-month deal.

The 31 year old came to the professional game relatively late, joining Peterborough United in 2017 after a highly productive spell with Stockport County in non-league.

He joined the Hatters in 2016 after spells with Southport, Colwyn Bay, Lincoln City, Tamworth and more notably Fylde, where he played 80 times and scored 20 goals.

After 22 goals in just one season at Edgeley Park, Lloyd secured his move to Posh, where he played 31 times, scoring 8 goals. He returned north after one year with Posh, joining Salford City where he scored five times in 39 appearances.

Following spells with Tranmere and Gillingham, Lloyd found himself without a club this summer after suffering some injury issues, but has been working with the club to build his fitness before securing this short-term deal.

An attacking midfielder capable of playing on either wing, Lloyd brings much-needed competition for the likes of Abraham Odoh and Ian Henderson and will likely be included in the squad for next weekend's trip to Bradford City.
