Midfielder Connor Malley has left Rochdale after his 6-month contract expired.

The 22-year-old joined Rochdale in the summer on a short term contract following a trial period but he failed to make much of an impact in his short time at Spotland.

He went on to make 14 appearances for Rochdale but only 5 of those were from the start and 3 of them were in the Pizza Cup.

Manager Jim Bentley said in his post match comments following the Barrow game that there were a couple of players leaving and it would be announced soon with this seemingly being the first of those. It's expected that goalkeeper Cieran Slicker and Rayhaan Tulloch, both on loan, may also be heading back with neither having been able to break into the first team.
