| Forum Thread | Network Rail & Queens Park Rangers at 15:09 4 Jan 2024
Just when I thought supporting our club couldn't get any worse, I made the mistake of looking at the train times for our three home league games in January. Wonderful! Bus replacement between Ipswich & Colchester for all of them. & so a drive to Shenfield it will reluctanly be, through two sets of roadworks on the A12. That will be over 50% of weekend home matches this season that a train from Ipswich has not reached Liverpool Street. So much for "the train takes the strain"! Obvoiusly Network Rail are telling me to save time & money & not go to Rangers! Hopefully, most of you won't have these problems. |

There was I thinking we will go above them on Friday, & their bloody well winning at Sunderland! Wednesday drawing with Leicester as well. Go above Millwall on Boxing Day? |
| Forum Thread | Norwich away at 13:27 5 Nov 2023
It looks a possibility that they will have replaced Wagner by the time we go there in three weeks! The easy victory for Blackburn today might result in a change of manager by the time we arrive. I'm surprised at the prices for Norwich & tghink they have been reduced from previous seasons - £31 full price & just the £21 for me as an over 65. |
| Forum Thread | Jack Colback at 10:15 17 Aug 2023
I think that there had been speculation that he would be involved in the team against Norwich. I understand that if he wasn't up to playing 30 minutes, there would be no point in having him in the squad. However, he will need some minutes on the pitch before he can play in The Championship, so I don't understand why he wasn't part of the Under 21 team that won at Wigan yesterday. Unless, of course, he is out injured! |
| Forum Thread | Transfer embargo at 19:17 26 Jul 2023
There are so many threads about Reading FC, that I wasn't sure whether to piggy back on to one or start anew! it is being reported that Reading have just been handed a new transfer embargo for non payment to HMRC. How long till the next points deduction? I'm sure the owners had no problem in passing the EFL fit & proper test! |
| Forum Thread | Cornwall/ Kernow at 16:14 10 Jul 2023
For any of our posters that live in Cornwall, or have connections, I see that there is a very important match taking place next Sunday. A winner takes all game against FA Sapmi has a 1.00pm kick off at Falmouth. The winners will qualify for next year's Confereration of Independent Foorball Associations to be held in Kurdistan. The Sami people inhabit northern parts of Norway, Sweded, Finland & Russia. Good luck to Cornwall. |

Are any others of you attending this on Thursday? I know that I'm looking forward to this far more than the Watford game on Saturday! If it wasn't for Ale being inducted into the Forever R's at half time, the bus replacement service (again!) might have tempted me to stay away. No doubt this is a stupid question, but I assume the entrance to the W12 Suite is situated in South Africa Road? |

I know I should have enroled years ago, but I've decided that I can't put off joining any longer. If only to listen to Mr Dorset! My question is, how do I go about this please? I've looked on the home page & couldn't find it, but that is probably user error by me! |
| Forum Thread | Under 21's at 19:41 27 Jan 2023
I'm not looking at it, but I notice that our 21's are in front against Bournemouth in their must win League Cup game. A victory for either side sees them progress, whereas I think a draw eliminates both. |
| Forum Thread | Oxford United Ipswich Town at 18:43 23 Jan 2023
According to the BBC, the referee Bobby Madden told both managers on Saturday that if he abandoned the match due to fog, the 1-1 scoreline would stand. Both sides wanted it abandoned & the game replayed, but Ipswich preferred to try to win three points rather than gain one. I find it hard to believe that the EFL have brought this in as a rule & it certainly wouldn't be up to the referee to decide the outcome. Perhaps Mr. Madden will be in deep s**t if this is confirmed. EDIT All reports in Ipswich support this report, but the Oxford United official report states that the referee informed both managers on 50 & 75 minutes that he could see perfectly ok even if they couldn't. No mention that he said a 1-1 draw would stand. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64272531 [Post edited 23 Jan 2023 19:02]

Good news in a bad week! Rayan Kolli has signed a professional contract for Queens Park Rangers until the summer of 2025. I assume he is beyond poaching by other clubs for this period now? I've not seen him play, but from everything I've read about him, this is more than just another youth player signing a contract. Best of luck Rayan. I look forward to seeing you play in the first team. |

Not a nice set of figures that you're retweeting Clive from Kevin Maguire! A loss before interest & tax of £26.4 million for year ending 31/5/22. This follows a £37 million loss in the 2021 year & £9 million loss in 2020. That's a lot of disallowable costs required to stay under the £39 million loss over the three year period. However, the averaging of two years accounts might save them. Ouch! [Post edited 17 Nov 2022 20:34]

I've just arrived home in Ipswich & rather than read through the match thread, here are my initial thoughts. Firstly, the very least we deserved was a draw. I know our best players tonight were in defensive positions, but apart from a couple of five minute periods I didn't feel we were in trouble. Dieng & Field were magnificent, with Paal & Tim pushing them closely. Balogun & Dickie were fairly solid as well. The last three substitutions didn't help us though & we definitely missed Dykes defensive contribution for set plays. I was stood alongside an ocassional poster to this site. Good to have met you Loft Upper. Enjoy your overnight stay before returning to Brighton to morrow. |
| Forum Thread | Second half of the season at 09:46 25 Oct 2022
Of course, the top half of the league will be constantly changing, but of the sides currently in the first 12, we will have played away to 8 of those when we reach the halfway stage. Burnley, Reading & Rotherham being the exceptions. Chuck in that we would also have played at Birmingham, Bristol City & Sunderland (the most likely clubs to move upwards). This may have no bearing on how we perform from Christmas onwards, but I thought it surprising & worth noting, that we are top of the league when our awayn fixtures have been loaded against us. We will need to take advantage when we are playing the top clubs at LR, but I'm happier that we don't have the end of last seasons visits to Blackburn, Huddersfield, Sheffield United, Forest etc. In theory our away matches should reap more points than the first half, but this is definitely not guarenteed! |
| Forum Thread | Cardiff sending off at 12:26 23 Oct 2022
No, not the one on Wednesday night! I'm not watching Swansea Cardiff as my wife has decided to watch a couple of episodes of Ghosts. So, my question is, wasd their early sending off at Swansea justified? |

Living in the town, I don't like Ipswich Town, but I did enjoy this League 1 match on Sky today. And not because of the result! Two sides wanting to win the game & playing some good football. There was also a bite to the match & I wasn't aware of the spite that some of the Ipswich players have! Even without Dom Ball! I can't recall a televised Championship game this season that has been close to being so watchable. The win moved to Plymouth to the top of the league, replacing Ipswich. What a good start to this seasons competition! I'm sure that Dynamo Zagreb won't qualify from the group stages, but their defence was incredible today. I expect young Herr Tuchel will be blaming evryone except himself for the defeat! |
