Thank you for posting. I hadn't realised that it had got anywhere close to being as bad as that. Are Fulham & Brentford forgetting "to treat others kindly on the way up as they will need them on the way down"? |

It would be so funny, mind you, England have to beat Namibia first! The rain God's might interfere as well, as they did to save England in the first game. |

The prices for non season ticket holders looks too expensive to me & even the ST full price of £18 is higher than I would have expected. The £13 I would have to pay is certainly reasonable & I might even consider going, though pre sesson matches don't excite me! I assume that we have had to guarentee a payment to Tottenham of £x & that the prices reflect meeting all of the expenses. |

That is incredible! I've never come across being asked for a tip after paying a service charge. I assume that you gave them the correct rating on Trip Adviser etc. It's rare that I find that service has been good enough to deserve a tip. |

I'm very pleased with this & hopefully he will continue his improvement. |

I seem to recall that the deeds stated that the ground had to be used for Reading FC & nobody else. |

Everywhere in the town for the past two years have been full of people wearing Ipswich shirts. I would have thought it the right attire for a football evening. |
| Forum Reply | General Election Thread at 09:59 10 Jun 2024
Clacton did indeed have a Butlins. The town also has a small hospital that is far better than it's big brothers in Ipswich & Colchester. There endeth my praise! Frinton has the best beach & cliff top walking in Essex/Suffolk & free parking! When the tempretures reach a reasonable level (for Britain) we take advantage of that beach as often as we can. Jaywick has had this reputation for as many decades as I can recall & the only redeeming feature I know of is The Three Jays (at least, it was 20 years ago!). Not much too look at , but a good range of beers & a decent pub menu. On the subject of pubs not good to look at, if any of you go to Harwich, I recommend The Alma. Spit & sawdust that does excellant food (on the dear side for the region), with a reasonable range of ales, lagers & (I think) ciders. More importantly, they cater for the locals as much as they do for us (visitors). Living in Ipswich has a responsibility in General Elections. The seat has swung between the two parties for as long as I have lived here & the MP has normally had a good record for his constituents. I say normally as I don't regard that Tom Hunt deserves that accolade, despite his protestations on the subject! Strangely enough, for such an important seat, I'm yet to see one person campaigning for any party! I assume that Labour & Conservatives regard the result as a forgone conclusion. |
| Forum Reply | 'Marquee' Rs signings who were (successful) 'statements of intent' at 10:02 8 Jun 2024
Terry Venables, Dave Thomas, Frank McLintock & Ray Wilkins for definite. I would also include Rodney Marsh & Stan Bowles, but I'm not certain that they were regarded as "marquee" at the time. Within a month of signing they were though! |
| Forum Reply | Eze for England! at 10:03 7 Jun 2024
I've no problems with the selections apart from misgivings with the centre halves. Personally, I think Branthwaite & Quansah are better defenders & footballers than Dunk or Konsa. In a couple of years time I expect they will be the first choice pairing. Congratulations to Eze & well deserved. [Post edited 7 Jun 10:05]

I did Sir, but not as many as my wife did! Or as many as she did with Roy Stephenson (Ipswich FL winner)! |

You might be on your own Stow. It had no appeal for me! I've only once in my life attended an evening with a footballer & that was for Ale Faurlin last year. I did enjoy that though! Hopefully it will be a good evening for you & perhaps the Ipswich fans will fund your drinks as repayment for the Leeds victory! |
| Forum Reply | Rangers SInce 1966-67 Without Rodney. at 16:25 6 Jun 2024
I would think that in all likelihood the 66/67 team would have gained promotion woth or without Rodney. What would have happened after that I wouldn't like to speculate. |

| Forum Reply | Departures in the development squad at 09:40 6 Jun 2024
I don't think that you can sign a professional contract until you're 18. I would be very surprised if players in the development squad that had reached that age, were not on a professional contract. |

In principle I can't disagree that a club should be able to accept sponsorship from whosoever they want to. However, they would have to show that they have received the published payment into their bank rather than just a paper transaction in their accounts. In reality, it would also be contrary to fair competition & they have to accept the rules of the competition they are playing in. Unless the rules are unlawful. That could be extremely difficult to prove! This action looks to me that they know they have lost their case & are trying to minimalise their punishment. |
| Forum Reply | What is your second sport. at 14:41 4 Jun 2024
It's not regarded as a sport, but I'm hooked on playing Bridge. I wish that I'd learned the game while at school (not on the curicular at a Secondary Modern!) & that I'd then been good enough (not likely) at county & national levels. Starting to play in my 50's was far too late! |
| Forum Reply | Eze for England! at 14:34 4 Jun 2024
Trafford is at Burnley after they bought him from Manchester City last summer. This was after he was the hero for England in an under age competition. Quashar is a young centre half at Liverpool who has started many a game this season & ended as the preferred partner for Van Dyke. He is far better than Gomez in this position. |

Condolences W13R. I read this directly after receiving a message that the joint manager, with me, of a Sunday team had passed away. Gone, but never forgotten! |
