I am not saying we should sign him, but he wasn't overrated when he was with us. We signed him on loan as an unknown 19 year old Chelsea Youth striker and as 5th choice in our front line. He was only supposed to get the odd bit of game time, but with injuries to other forwards and his performances from the bench, he got his reward. We made him into the player he became, hence why Chelsea wanted top money for him (£50m allegedly). Then he had that awful injury and has, like many other players, struggled a bit since. He wasn't rated at all when he came to us, so he definitely could not be one of the most overrated players we've had in years. |

He really did. Search back and find examples. RH was a troubled man and well into the start of his demise. He must have been really desperate to blame and 5th choice 19 year old loanee striker for our lack of goals in specific games and for the awful run we had at the end of that season. Che is a supposed Prem Striker. He has dropped down a division, so should really be top of the class. He didn't even hit the heights he achieved with Birmingham City at this level (22 goals in his last season), that prompted us to buy him. As I said in another thread, he has underachieved and really should have scored 7-10 more goals than this season's tally. Maybe as he is in the last year of his contract has affected him ? However and rather embarrassingly, this is the first time he has hit double figures in league goals for us - at the 5th time of asking !! Broja was just a young unheard of when we signed him on loan, as a 5th choice striker. |

He was isolated from play because RH played him as a lone striker, with very little support - then threw him under the bus and blamed solely him for the lack of goals and results in our poor end of season run. ......forgetting that he only signed 19 year old Broja as a back up striker, to give a bit of game time to occasionally off the bench and get him up to speed in the Prem. Then there were injuries to the likes of Che, A Arm, Long and Theo, so he got a chance, performed well and started to get picked ahead of said 4. We put him on the map and boosted his alleged transfer asking price to £50m. (It is probably only a third of that now). With Che out of contract in the summer, he has done little to suggest he is worth a new contract, so although Broja may not be our answer as a partner to RS, I wouldn't say no, as long as he has fully recovered from that awful injury. Mara's return this season has been very poor, especially considering we have dropped down a league. His attitude and motivation has also been questionable at best and his all round contribution to the team and our style of play has been a massive failure. If we'd had a fully fit squad this season and knowing RM's obsession with wingers, I am not sure Mara would have even made the bench that many times. |

Or text Nick @ Saints Away Travel. He has helped me with a ticket a couple of times and likewise, we have sold on a spare or 2 to him. |

Adams and A Armstrong should easily have scored another 7-10 goals each this season. The amount of excellent chances they and their team mates have missed is quite ridiculous. Our season long issue of failing to kill teams off when we are on top, really has come back and bitten us. That along with gifting the opposition easy chances, conceding, panicking and often throwing points away. Goals change games - kill teams off and there are no repercussions. |
| Forum Reply | Leeds Allocation For Norwich at 14:01 7 May 2024
When we played at Norwich on New Year's Day this season, we were given 2022 tickets @ £31. Similarly at WBA, we got 2009 tickets @ £28. I expected the same allocations for the play-offs, regardless of which team we would be up against. I didn't expect Norwich to charge an extra fiver and unless they have pre-agreed a price with Norwich, I fully expect Leeds to charge Norwich fans £47 for the game at Elland Road. |
| Forum Reply | Che Adams v Adam Armstrong stats at 16:10 2 May 2024
Both have underperformed this season. Both should have another 7-10 goals each. Fortunately quite a few other players have chipped in with goals. Adams still misses sitters, but not like that 1 at Wolves the other season !! A Arm has gone right off the boil - especially since he didn't make the team of the season - somehow losing his spot to that Leeds striker who had 7 goals and 16 assists - compared to A Arm's 20 goals and 12 assists !! RM still doesn't know his best front line combo. Nice deserved dig at the leaky defence - which should have been extended to the 'Keepers as well. Either way, next season we need new striker, defender and keeper options !! |

From my Saints ST Renewal email A new era dawns at St Mary's as we look to open a home-fan-only safe standing experience in the Northam Stand, and we want you to be at the heart of it. Blocks 40-46, which are situated within our new Northam Safe Standing area are now on sale for you to buy any available seat in this stand at the early bird price. This price is guaranteed, regardless of the division. If this doesn't sound like it's for you, don't worry you will have the opportunity to explore other options after the end of the season, including a priority window for other areas of the stadium. Please note: Your current seat will not be held due to it being directly impacted by the new away stand. |

Club is attempting to force everyone into the Safe Standing Blocks with cheaper prices. We and our group are currently in the Family Centre, so have to move. My ticket last season cost £499, so if we move to the Notham, it stays the same with an early bird renewal. My Daughter however has been royally shafted by the club. She is in the 18-25 price bracket and I paid £219 for her this season. To move to the Northam in the early bird window is £349 (more than 50% increase). The thing is, we all want a seat and don't really want to go in the Northam, so it will cost even more for us both (and the others in our group). I hope they offer the 'renewal window' they suggest in the email and that it will be at early bird renewal prices - We want to renew and can pay now but don't want to be in the Northam. |

I get all your points about the players mentioned Pat, but I don't see why we pick a loan player ahead of our own, especially when he has done so little of late and clearly can't wait to leave. I would rather give Sam AA a run out. Sulemana I agree hasn't got a clue, but he is quick and we could have put him up against Vesti last night as something unexpected - especially as Vesti was on a yellow. Agree that Dozie is probably L1 standard. He is so lightweight, loses the ball far too often and will try to beat the same man 2 or 3 times instead of laying it off. He needs to learn the offside rule as well. Fraser was excellent this season, before Millwall kicked him off the park. Now he is struggling, or not showing it in training, or RM has moved him down the pecking order. I am surprised that he hasn't reverted back to the Fraser - Adams - A Arm front 3 combo yet. 2 games to find a winning combination. |

Yes !! One of the graphics on Sky last night said that our Expected Goals for the 2nd half was 0.08 !! |

'For so long in the game I thought we were really good' - at having 66% possession and creating virtually nothing and zero shots on target. I think we tried to bore Leicester to death with continuous backwards and sideways passing, so much so that our players looked bored as well !! Not a single player seemed up for it and Leicester even scored a breakaway goal from our corner - just like the ones we used to concede in the Prem. 3rd choice keeper - faced 6 shots on target and let in 5 !! If RM thinks we were really good last night, he needs to watch the match again and give us his proper verdict. |

Brooks is technically very good, but has been severely lacking in the very things we needed - fight, graft, determination, chase back (especially when he loses it) and the ability to dig in. I have said before that he is a luxury player and someone to ideally bring on at home when we are winning, so he can open up defences with his passing, or score the odd worldy. He deficiencies were very noticeable away to Bristol City and in some of the games since then, even at home, particularly when he has started games. He has not done enough to earn a contract with us, with any of the teams that will get promoted and won't be in the starting XI for Bournemouth next season. Another loans beckons. I would much rather we used, or gave a chance to some of our own wingers - Sam AA, Dibling, Sulemana, Edozie, Fraser (aware he is on loan but dropped out of the starting XI despite losing the creativity of S Arm). |
